I watched this movie immediately after hearing this review when it came out a couple years ago. As a matter of fact even my wife agreed to watch it and she loved it almost as much as I did! If you want to get your wife to watch Westerns I recommend starting with this movie since it has this love story at the center of the movie the whole way through. The violence is over the top and fun most the time. Some genuinely hilarious scenes in this movie and some are even artistic almost fantasy. When they are hiding from the bad guys on the same property only they hide in the grain barn under the grain itself. The entire scene is surreal almost dreamlike. The mounds of grain remind me of the mounds of sand in a very similar looking scene in Tarkovsky's Stalker (1979).

Too bad Tarantino never hired Tomas Milian, such a great actor, he worked with many great directors but in the United States was totally underrated and underused. I think his delivery was perfect for Tarantino cinema.
