Soweto Riders are inspired by extreme motorsports around the world and continuing a legacy of BMX riding, spinning and customising in South Africa's townships, ibhayisikili is a bike riding culture emerging out of Soweto.
Inspired by car spinning, a pastime embedded in South Africa’s township culture. Soweto Riders are breaking down barriers and opening up access to extreme sports through social networks and community organised competitions.
This 3-part video series zooms in on ibhayisikili and the kids driving the scene forward with their passion and creativity.
