I'm so happy they just keep using Paul Julian's recorded meeps, they're just absolute classics. Just imagine being able to be the voice of a character forever, even after you're long gone. Pretty cool thought.
You know, you have to give Paul Julian credit. There's a reason they kept using his archived audio. It seems like an easy voice/sound but, listening to talented voice artists like Mel Blanc and Eric Bauza try to replicate it, makes you realize who unique it really is. Bauza gets closer than Blanc but... you can tell immediately it's not the "real" Road Runner sound.
Homer: Hey, it really is you! How'd you get to be so good? Bellamy: Oh, just experience I suppose. I started out as Roadrunner. Meep! Homer: You mean "meep-meep"? Bellamy: No, they only paid me to say it once, then they doubled it up on the soundtrack. Cheap bastards.
@@calebkuti7897 Of course. You're right. I just pointed it out because I thought it was interesting that such a small piece of dialogue could seem to sound right only from one person. It's definitely a case of me being used to the old shorts. I know what you mean about some people only accepting the old but let me assure you, I was just making an observation, which is why I pointed out that not even the great Mel Blanc could make it sound right, having voiced the majority of the original Looney Tunes characters. Some of the newer productions even still use the Paul Julian recording, so I'm clearly not the only one who noticed the unique distinctness of this background artist's particular rendition of the phrase "Beep Beep!" It's fascinating.
Dude, I don’t fucking care anymore. I’m too busy listening to angry Looney Tunes fans complaining about why Elmer should have a fucking gun super glued to his fucking hands! Jesus!
Wow, wasn’t actually expecting this, but it was still a nice surprise. It’s kind of hard to judge a character that only ever says two repeated words, but I am so used to Julian’s voice that I naturally think of him as the definitive Road Runner. Bauza does a pretty good imitation, especially considering how much variety he has in the pitch of his voice during the game (they don’t just repeat the same vocal clip over and over again). Even though Mel Blanc’s Road Runner voice sounds different between the 1964 greeting card and the two Peter Pan records, on each individual appearance, it just sounds like they’re repeating the same “Meep, Meep” over and over again, with no attempt to even speed a few of them up. My ranking: 1. Paul Julian 2. Eric Bauza 3. Mel Blanc
My favorite part was “We thought we were playing a game, but it wasn’t a game, it was real, but of course you already knew that or you sort of knew that, and if you didn’t know that, you know that now! You know?”

You know when you say a word enough times it loses all meaning and starts to sound surreal? That's what listening to several straight minutes of Meep Meeps sounds like.
I think someone's clip is missing here... I was watching Animaniacs last night on Hulu, specifically the Slappy Squirrel short "Bumbie's Mom," and the Road Runner showed up. I was shocked when I heard him make the signature "beep beep/meep meep" noise, and it didn't sound like anyone you included in this video! It had a more pronounced "beep" to it, and I'd say it was closer to Paul Julian's than Mel Blanc or Eric Bauza, but it was definitely not Paul Julian because of the whole "beep beep" vs. "meep meep" thing. I've heard rumors in the comments section talking about how Rob Paulsen actually did voice the real deal Road Runner, and honestly, I think that's him based on the voice itself as well as him being one of the regulars on Animaniacs, but I don't know for sure. Paulsen is only credited as Yakko in the full episode, and nobody is credited for more than one role, not even major ones in the episode such as the nun in The Big Candy Store or Vina Walleen/Bumbie's Mom. In addition, the clip itself isn't included in the video. Was this because nobody was credited? I'm honestly very curious about this unique-sounding Road Runner.
Rob Paulsen also voiced the Road Runner in the Animaniacs (1993) episode Bumbie's Mom (1993). His portrayal of the Road Runner sounds similar to his portrayals of Axl (Taz-Mania) and Doctor Scratchansniff (Animaniacs).
Julian’s voice has appeared across all video game media, except World of Mayhem. There’s no official source stating Welker ever voiced him - likewise the Taz Mania episode was also a Julian archive.
Dave Lee Down Under once there was a video of the Cartoon Conductor game where someone in the comments were saying it’s Joe Alaskey or Frank Welker. Because at least to my ears it doesn’t sound like Paul Julian.
This may be off topic but since I have your attention, Maurice LaMarche once done Wile E Coyote for the Cartoon Conductor game but I haven’t been able to find footage of Maurice as Wile. Joe Alaskey did Wile for Looney Tunes Reality Check Webtoon not Maurice LaMarche.

I like how you can tell Paul Julian clearly recorded dozens of unique and different "meep meeps" over the years. Then you get to The Looney Tunes Show and they just used the same one over and over again 😑
I honestly think it's time for the RoadRunner to get a new voice actor and make him more vocal such as being able to laugh and make other sounds besides "Beep Beep" and the tongue pop ironically his student Little Beeper can laugh and make other sounds
I don't think that Frank Welker voiced the Road Runner. People think that Welker voiced him in Tiny Toon Adventures (1990), Taz-Mania (1991) and Animaniacs (1993), but it doesn't sound like him.
