While rogue, Tzolkin Hero in 2016 or 2017 really took advantage of Malicious at 3 by playing 3 Red Resonator which was a lv2 tuner to ss the lv4 Vision Hero Vyon which on Summon could dump Malicious to the gy. You then Synchro the Resonator and Vyon into Coral Dragon, a lv6 tuner synchro, then banished a malicious to ss one from deck and use the Coral Dragon and Malicious to make Ultimaya Tzolkin with a single backrow to set, you'd instantly get a Crystal Wing to your field, one of the best Synchro Monsters made at that point. And if you had a way to discard Malicious from hand, you could send Shadow Mist to grave off of Vyon to add Mali to hand, then use Vyons other Effect to add poly to hand by Banishing the shadow mist. This gave you a guaranteed way to trigger Tzolkin AND you could then get out the 3rd copy of Malicious and fuse it and Tzolkin together to make Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste which would Banish Tzolkin to copy it's Effect, so you could set another card and then get out something like Void Ogre Dragon. On top of that, with some other extenders the deck could also put up Stardust Dragon and/or Dark Law ofc, and Vanity's Emptiness was still legal, so you had to always expect that to be the lone backrow and whenever I would be able to make that board going first, it always prompted an immediate concession from my opponent! Tzolkin Hero was a super fun deck to play back then that actually kind of had it's roots since the introduction of Dark Law in Nekroz format. I remember being able to make a board of Dark Law, Void Ogre, and Stardust against decks like Nekroz and, later on, Mermail, and they'd just have no way to play the game. All thanks to Malicious. I later took that bones of a deck into the link era and built Hero Gumblar, it aimed to link climb from Isolde to Summon Sorc and then Gumblar and end on Dawn Dragster, and a Mali/shadow mist with a set Mask Change to quickly go into Dark Law whenever the opponent would Activate a search Effect and rip anywhere from 3-6 cards out of the opponents hand while having the s/t negation and the banish Effect of Darklaw. Ofc Warrior combo got crazier later on, but even for brief moments, those decks solidified Destiny HERO - Malicious as one of my all-time favorite cards!
Malicios could still be used during zexal era, especially since synchro lvl 8 monsters were still relevant with the release of beelze and Void Ogre, then you could still use malicious for lvl 6 Xyzs granted they weren´t as popular as lvls 4, but gaunlet launcher had some use, at this time having malicious banished didn´t meant you couldn´t use it since you had plenty of cards to summon it back, and lavaval chain made it pretty easy to send both Malicious and Plaguespreader zombie to the graveyard, when it wasn´t banned.

Just a heads up to everyone, Kazuki Takahashi is a big fan of anime and video games, and so are the artists behind our fave card art! Malicious is inspired by Devilman, The evil harpy Sirene was the inspiration to Mais Harpy Ladies, and Yubels final form was a monstrous final form seen in Go Nagais other series. Even Celtic Guardian was inspired by Link from Legend of Zelda...just more buff!
@@sodaftpm185 there's tons. For example( and this was an interesting one) The Duelist who used the Arcana Force The World, was the Japanese voice actor behind Dio Brando, and well...who better to summon THE WORLD?! I'm guessing the staff and card creators had fun casting and creating the two.
If you want more videos talking about card inspiration check out TGS Anime's videos on different archetypes (Though maybe only watch his part talking the Ultraman inspiration for Radian and check out the Kaiju Archetype Archive for the rest because Sam said Gadarla was based on Mothra while Rata said and I quote "But the more monstrous appearance makes it a lot more similar to Battra")

I miss when Yu-Gi-Oh was a slow game. Decks now are so degenerate and cheap. I only play dueling nexus now. I don't play IRL anymore. When a new set comes out, I buy packs. But only to make a few bucks hopefully. I just don't like playing anymore. It's not the game I fell in love with in high school 😔
Literally more than half the games I played with Malicious (I kept track. Not right from the beginning, but when I noticed this I was curious if it was confirmation bias or I was truly unlucky), I'd draw ALL copies before I was able to send 1 to the GY. Even if I was lucky and started with something like Destiny Draw, I'd also start with 3 or 2 Malicious (depending on banlist). I hate my luck.
I’ve said it so many times before: errata malicious so it can only be used as extra deck material for a HERO monster, slap it at 3, and stop playing yo-yo with it
TCG don't do erratas that completely rewrite a card. Only the OCG does that, and they only do it to cards that are banned over there. In other words, unless something really broken arises in the OCG with 2 Mal that leads to a ban, it's never gonna happen
Isn't saying that Mali "fell" kind of wrong though? He's not being played because of the banlist, not because he's power-crept or weaker now. In fact, I don't think Mali will ever be power-crept in the entirety of Yugioh.

Your Dark Warrior Orcust decklist has the wrong Babel card in it - it should be Orcustrated Babel but you've put in Tower of Babel. Great video though! Loved reliving the history of the game through one of my most played monsters of all time. c:
Malicious will never fall.
It never fell
Just a heads up to everyone, Kazuki Takahashi is a big fan of anime and video games, and so are the artists behind our fave card art! Malicious is inspired by Devilman, The evil harpy Sirene was the inspiration to Mais Harpy Ladies, and Yubels final form was a monstrous final form seen in Go Nagais other series. Even Celtic Guardian was inspired by Link from Legend of Zelda...just more buff!
What other insirations from anime and video games?
@@sodaftpm185 there's tons. For example( and this was an interesting one) The Duelist who used the Arcana Force The World, was the Japanese voice actor behind Dio Brando, and well...who better to summon THE WORLD?! I'm guessing the staff and card creators had fun casting and creating the two.
@@sodaftpm185 another is the original red headed Harpy Ladies leotard colored outfit is borrowed from Cutey Honey, another Go Nagi creation.
@@GatorRay another example is Bio Boosted Armor Guyver being the inspiration behind Elemental Hero Neos. Takahashi has mentioned being a huge fan of our favorite armored hero!
The ONLY time I remember Malicious being played during Zexal was when a few brave yugioh players played “Tefnuit DAD”. I believe Dubkdad may have done a profile on this at one point.
And its going to keep happening until they give it an errata
The rise and fall and rise and fall and rise and fall and rise and fall and rise and fall and rise and fall and rise and fall and rise and fall and rise and fall of destiny hero malicious
😂 I guess I didn't scroll far enough before I got frustrated with the lack of this comment, so I posted my own version before seeing this one
I rarely played with destiny heroes but that all changed when Malicious was at three.
The Rise & Fall of Konami as a company in relation to Yugioh when?
The only way to stop people from playing Mali in every combo deck, is the banlist.
Or an errata to lock you into summoning only HERO monsters if you use his effect.
Hey! I'm in the video :D ! Thanks for including me.
Bruh malicious has been semi limited like 5 Times 😂 I feels bad for the man
Yeaaah I was right xd *somewhat*
I AM SUUUUUPER HYPED for the video *, *
I NEED THE ARTWORK PLEEEEEEASE
Mmm destiny hero malicious kinda a daddy. We need more sexy himbo cards.
Correction cosa Mesa was the first sjc of March 08 however yes dad return was played in February 2008
So we’re all here waiting? So much hype for this vid
Hey CapG. How about a video on GalacticGod and what he did for the community?
I legit couldn't watch the rest of the videos from laughing after seeing the 33 cards extra deck 😂
The rise and fall and rise and fall and rise and fall and eventual rise of Destiny hero malicious
Huh
Why D-HEROES were stronk.
They're Dark, Warrior and HERO. Arguably the most common and good support fall in those 3 tags.
They've been powercrept hard though.
The rise, fall, rise, and fall again of Mali.
Konami can fix that problem with: "You cannot special summon other monsters Except HERO monsters the turn you activate this effect" and gg.
Probably should say warrior or something or it’d just be a total meme card
oh yes, errata it to make it permanently garbage
@@wtfbros5110 it wouldn't be permanently garbage though. Heroes will always get new support and Mali will always be played in the deck. With him at 3 and the continuous support Heroes get Mali would always be played in a tier 2 or rogue deck at least.
I hate my luck.
hey cap. Big fan of your work, but have you considered using a De-Esser? You've got some sharp, harsh sibilance and it's a little annoying.
Then rise, and fall, and rise, and fall, and rise, and fall again...
I’ve said it so many times before: errata malicious so it can only be used as extra deck material for a HERO monster, slap it at 3, and stop playing yo-yo with it
Exactly like vision hero faris
TCG don't do erratas that completely rewrite a card. Only the OCG does that, and they only do it to cards that are banned over there.
In other words, unless something really broken arises in the OCG with 2 Mal that leads to a ban, it's never gonna happen
Isn't saying that Mali "fell" kind of wrong though? He's not being played because of the banlist, not because he's power-crept or weaker now. In fact, I don't think Mali will ever be power-crept in the entirety of Yugioh.
i tried splashing him in my old chaos dragon deck for darks, what a bad idea xD swapped for tour guide when i realized it was back at 3 :)
Hope they get some more support, like they need better backrow in my opinion like some sort of disruptive card.
The good ole days. ❤
I would argue that Destiny Hero - Malicious never actually died.
Malicious or the Yugioh version of Devilman!
When it has 2 then moments like when I discard him with destiny draw to draw my second malicious.
5:00 reminded me of all those troll ED lists, sometimes these players would intentionally make their ED that big so the journalists would have to ACTUALLY type all of that out. Just imagine being the one looking at this.....
Delicious Malicious
I feel like malicious is one of the few cards who should be semi limited.
I really like this series 👍
