Kosovo is just starting, I knew countless number of talents way back from 1.6 then Source and now GO, but there was always a lack of someone to gather these talents in one place, organise a tournament or teach them to get into foreign tournaments etc so they just played for fun with a minimal number of them even knowing there was such a thing as to get paid to play competitive games. In a few years Kosovo will be up there with now long-tradition countries in CS competitions both in quality and in quanitity of teams and players.
You're spot on mate, the culture of gaming here is really something different, at core the reason for that may be slightly darker than you would like for it to be, but in essence it's bringing light to something as untraditional as gaming, and opening a new sphere of monetization / profession and income for your average kids. I think that countries like these which are not 1st world countries, are the catalysts for true innovation. Just my 2 cents of course!
only because we all used to play in local internet cafes so we were only known as good in our local community since we never branched out. good to see that were finally getting a spotlight though
