What a great idea. I suppose there are so many inshore and mud rescues that a boat would run aground. Excellent Service.
I never even knew the RNLI operated hovercrafts! Whilst I was down in Cornwall on holiday I visited St Ives lifeboat station. They operate a 'Mersey' class lifeboat, whilst I was there I spent almost 50quid on bits & bobs in their shop. One of them being a large mug with images & stats on all the types of craft they operate. From the small RIB's to the Severn class boats. It was due to this mug that I found out the RNLI operated Hovercraft!!

so it only works in 6 inches of sandy water eh..impressive
Dry land and deep water as well
