    How do you get micro organisms in a tank? My Neocaridinas are thriving pretty good, but I dont have any micro organisms in my tank.

    • @cornertankcorner
      @cornertankcorner  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Dirk Sachse those usually come by themselves. There is certain products that help with that as well, such as the Bacter AE and Biotase. You probably have tons of micro fauna but some are hard to see especially the ones that shrimps eat.

    • @cornertankcorner
      @cornertankcorner  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dirk Sachse One thing I didn't mention is that the micro fauna I mention is not the Copepods and Ostracods. These two also feed on the micro organisms. So if you see a good population of them, that means your micro fauna is thriving and your shrimplets will have a good survival rate.

      Copepods and Ostracods, I guess those are the ones I saw in this video. I dont have them in my tank. Is there a way to get them?

      +Dirk Sachse
      Usually you get them as hitchhikers on plants. I just move some Marimo balls from one tank to another and seed them that way.

    Hi , can you make a video about these microorganisms you called micro fauna. I have noticed these on a newly setup tank with ADA soil before any shrimp was put in. I am trying to figure out what to do with them.

      +HiLyNxX
      I mentioned them in a few of my videos. First you have to identify why they are as a lot of them are beneficial. Two common bad ones are the planaria and hydra. Copepods and seed shrimps are a good indicator that the ecosystem is healthy. If you see a lot of Copepods (cyclops) that means your microorganisms are in good shape as that is what the Copepods feed on.

    can you tell me what products are you using in this water?

    • @cornertankcorner
      @cornertankcorner  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right now I use SS GH+ for RO water, Benibachi Active water, various additives like the benibachi B3, Bacter AE and a few others alternately.

      Corner Tank Corner can you tell me your ph value? I have a tank with red cherry and i want to add some crystal or black bee shrimps to it. Ph is 7 kh 1 gh 7. You think i can add them kinds of shrimps with the red cherry in them parameters?

    hey hi! are you intentionally cross breeding everyone? do you get any special combinations in ur f3 and beyond generations?

    • @cornertankcorner
      @cornertankcorner  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am crossing Mischling (CRSxTB) back to Taiwan bees and that way a certain percentage of babies will be Taiwan bees. It’s a cheap way to increase the Taiwan bee colony. At the moment I have close to 100 Taiwan bees in all types. So to answer your question by crossing these shrimps the most interesting pattern I got is shadow Panda Hinomaru no entry.

      Hi Sybrand. I'm doing fine, I'm just busy with my new job. I apologize for not posting regularly but I will have a few videos coming up including one unboxing. My shrimps are doing great although i am trying to cut back to make it easier manageable for water changes as right now it takes me the whole weekend. Thank you again! 😊
