Kukutnica

18. 03. 2023. Kružna planinarska tura - uspon na dva najviša vrha planine Kukutnice (1383m, i 1382m). Dužina ture: 12km. Visinska razlika u usponu i silasku: 455m.
Na Kukutnici se, u toku Prvog srpskog ustanka, 1809. godine, na Petrovdan (29. jun po julijanskom, 12. jul po gregorijanskom kalendaru), odigrala važna bitka. U njoj su malobrojne ustaničke snage, pod komandom vojvode Miloša Obrenovića uspele da poraze brojno nadmoćnu tursku vojsku, koristeći manevar lažnog povlačenja i zasedu. U borbi je aktivno učestvovao i narod iz zbega, a posebno su se istakle žene koje su sa stenovitih obronaka gađale Turke kamenjem.
Na severozapadnoj strani grebena Kukutnice nalazi se zaravan koju je nekadašnja Jugoslovenska narodna armija koristila za sletanje helikoptera.
The round hiking tour - the ascent to two highest peaks of Mt. Kukutnica (1383m, and 1382m). Tour length: 12km. Elevation gain uphill/downhill: 455m.
In 1809. During the First Serbian Rising, on the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul (29th June O.S. / 12th July N.S.), an important battle took place on Mt. Kukutnica. In this battle a few Serbian revolutionaries, commanded by voivode Miloš Obrenović managed to defeat numericaly superior Ottoman Turkish army, using the feigned retreat and ambush. The unarmed refugees also took part in the battle, among which the women especially distinguished themselves by hurling rocks at the Turks from the rocky slopes of Mt. Kukutnica.
At the northeastern edge of Mt. Kukutnica's ridge, there is a plateau which was once used by Yugoslav People's Army for helicopter landings.
