I was amazed how even a mass of spaced but standing perfectly still Water birds were behind Jess what a fantastic audience. Jess ,esmerizes every body Wow
Well Done Jess - You put a lot of hard work into this piece and really made it come to life. Back in the spring, when we were filming, tourists applauded enthusiastically and our biggest audience, a group of ducks, were transfixed! The typical weather was more than compensated for by with delicious food served to us in the Gillam’s family cafe and Jon and I had a very happy couple of days.
Finding this was a complete joy. Barbara, I've loved your music since the crazy, room spinning night I first heard Mother Earth. And Jess is going to bring all that for a new generation... and then some I reckon.... WOW 😍
This is so beautiful on every level! Thank you, Jess Gillam, for playing so superbly, and a lovely surprise to see Barbara Thompson, the composer of the piece (and wonderful sax player), in the lovely Lake District
Absolutely magnificent! Thank you, Jess, (for asking for the commission) and thank you Barbara Thompson for continuing to nurture young talent even now, 36 years after I first heard you play with Jubiaba as 17 year old musician. Respect to you both.
I keep imagining all the young people Jess is going to inspire to take up the sax. My granddaughters (ages 7.5 and 5) watched her on the proms and then wanted to try the TJ Alpha sax that I bought for myself because I have COPD and can't manage a full-weight sax. Fitted with a Legere 1.5 reed they were immediately able to get recognisable notes out of it ... MUCH to their surprise as well as mine and my daughter!!! They've now instructed me to have the Alpha ready for them to try again when they next come to visit .... Jess has had THAT much of an effect on them!!! Brilliant. A wonderful young woman, bursting with talent and enthusiasm. I just wish to god I'd 'found' the sax when I was young instead of the guitar.
Well done amazing playing and filming, I love the fact the ducks enjoyed it to. I hope to see you play live some day. I hope I will be a good saxophonist some day I'm starting to learn late in life. You inspire so many people. All the best keep it going.🌟🎷
Lindo musical recheado de uma paisagem exuberantemente bela, e esse rítmo me arremete a Gafieira, me faz imaginar um casal dançando sensualmente sob esse solo magistral. Bravus Jess Gillam !
Sounds Super !! as always, Jess is a great player, but who had the bright idea for this scenario, a drummer perhaps? :-) Miming to prerecorded piano and strings in the background :-( all a bit cheesy really, Jess is worth much better. Barbara´s compostiontion is very nice.
