[4KHDR] Driving in Montenegro: M1 E65 E80 from Perast to Kotor - Bay of Kotor Scenic Drive

In this video you can drive along on the M-1 E65 - E80 from Perast to Kotor in Montenegro. For the sake of having some variety, I decided to not speed up this particular video. I think this way it does more justice to the incredible surroundings of the Bay of Kotor.
The mountains surrounding the Bay of Kotor are quite high, but they look especially impressive because we drive pretty much at sea level. The bay is literally surrounded by a wall of nature. The water of the Bay of Kotor is also among the clearest I have ever seen.
This route may not always be the fastest to get to Kotor, there is also a short ferry connection that can cut your travel time significantly, since the road around the bay is pretty much 50 km/h all the way. The road is generally in good condition.
Perast is a touristic town with a historical center that is worth seeing. There is also the small man-made island that is very popular among tourists. In the high season about 6000 people come through daily via boat tours. A speed boat tour of the bay and part of the Adriatic sea to see some of the caves is something I can recommend.
Kotor is the city that the bay is named after. It too, has a historical city center with the old town being walled. One of its most famous attractions are the stairs of kotor, which lead you up the mountain to an old abandoned fort with a view over Kotor. It's very beautiful although it takes some effort to get there as it's quite a bit of elevation.
I hope you enjoy this scenic drive along, I will upload more driving videos from this region in the future. The map is not completely accurate, since I changed a few things last minute while editing. However, I didn't want to remake the map since they are quite a bit of effort.

Indeed a very scenic drive along The Bay of Koto, did it also in 2009, during a bigger roadtrips in The Balkans. The region became much more crowded from what I see. Took also the boat to an island from Perast, very photogenic place. Thanks for the video, nice to see how different places developed, greetings from a roadtripper from Germany!
