The reason I can't see Ziqui and Jian Jian as a couple is that the love he deserves from her is something that can't be ruined by possible breakups or divorce. They are truly siblings, she's someone he can ALWAYS rely on.
The thing is director's could have make this drama without him falling to Jinjian..then there's everything will be fine..why they make his character to fall in love with her?he is suffring more and more is the worst thing....and they even hurting his feelings again and again...eventhoguh they did it in a funny way it's hurting him..just because he bear everything by himself and don't show his pain to others doesn't mean he has no feelings...the story writer is so unfair😑from childhood to until bow he is suffering so badly

Even if he did have romantic feelings for her, it was probably just a random burst of love as he was lonely for 9 years.

Frankly speaking, I initially was a bit dissapointed about ZQ thinking of marrying JainJain, thought it would be a triangle love and so... but later it was very well explained what he had was not romatic feelings but an unconditional affection for JainJain that he cannot send off her to some other person so he can be there for her protecting her. I dont think he has any romantic feelings at all or he is not happy with JainJain and Ling being together, its just that he feels left out but now I think he is getting through it.

Ziqiu's situation is terribly painful. Ever since he was a kid, he was understanding and patient with people around him whoever it may be. Being abandoned at such an age without any explanation left a deep scar on him, I am glad that he ended up at Li's home though where he was welcomed and taken care of. He tried to move on in his life with the two fathers, Jian and Ling Xiao as his family but he was and is still suffering by the scars left by his parents. Also, the constant reminders he had to hear about being a "burden" from the nosy neighbours, other children, his aunt and then his own guilty conscience coming to haunt him made him feel like a mistake in this world. He was sick of the betrayal and abandonment of his parents, and it all came down to money issues and disloyalty. His mother could not afford to pay for him and the father was not financially stable back then and thus, they abandoned him. And when Ziqiu had somewhat moved on in his life, when he was doing better by giving his best to his new family, his idiotic father came back with threats and problems while making false promises. Ziqiu took a chance because he did not want father Li to spend more money on him for college, and sadly, this chance only made Ziqiu's life even more upsetting as he was mentally tortured by his stupid, good for nothing 'so called' father to abandon him YET AGAIN, and guilt trip and manipulate Ziqiu to accept him as his real father. Such a cowardly act by a low life, narcissistic father. If he truly cared about Ziqiu, he would not have tried to control Ziqiu like this. No child should have to go through this. It is extremely vile of a parent to control and torture their children through the means of money threats. Ziqiu's insecurities, fears, anger and trauma are stemmed from financial and trust issues. He wants to be financially independent to take care of his real family; JianJian and their father Li, and not have to worry about abandonment ever again. He wants to close the chapter on his parents but they keep coming back to haunt him. He does not want to be an object that his parents can take or throw away whenever they desire to do so. I hope in the later episodes, we can see him have his closure on his pain and trauma, at least he will be able to start working on the healing process and to realise that it was not his fault. It never was and it never will be. All of the children in this show have been through hell and are still dealing with their negative parents. I am grateful for the writers of this show to portray the struggles that children go through because of the adults in their lives. This show is not just a mere love story; it is about friendship, pure love, and more importantly that the idiom: "Blood is thicker than water" absolutely means nothing, people can find their real family in any person. Thankfully, there are a few kind people in this world that we can turn to, if we are in need of help.
Ziqui mom is much better than Ling Xiao's mom. I really like the ling xiao character he doesn't hold a grudge even if they were your abusive mother and Ziqui Character is just too pitiful he should stop being too prideful being too much in yourself is not good

The character I really like here is Ziqui, and I feel sorry for his story because at first he was promised that his mother would return him and he was kicked out. He also feels that he is alone, but I like his character because he is very protective of Jian Jian and caring, considerate, he is very soft and he really loves his father even though they are not related by blood. also even if he has a problem or he has suffered, he is still smiling so he is super brave for me even though what he went through is super painful also when Ziqui's story is really talked about, I cry especially because he is loving. actually Jian Jian and Ziqui also have chemistry, I used to ship them because he really appreciates everything and is very oriented. also he deserves someone who will truly love him and not leave him, because that's what he's wanted ever since he started looking for parents. MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IS ZIQUI, he suffered the most.

I'm tempted to say that the luckiest child in dis movie is JianJian. Yea I know she lost her mum and d baby brother she never got to know when she was pretty young, but she had a loving father who raised her right and was dia whenever she needed him. Even back when she was still in high school and was failing, unlike the other parents,he didn't put her down or make her feel bad in any way. Instead he loved her and supported whatever she did or wanted to do. Not to mention her dear Godfather, brother, boyfriend and best friends. She is not lacking in the place of love and self-esteem or even her work. She is a blessed bunny❤❤❤❤❤❤.

Loved Jian's drawing and how Ziqui called Xiao for breakfast just like the old times(pity that Xiao's dad was not there at that time) Jian's dad being the best dad ever but still blaming himself for everything...why he is such 24k gold-hearted? Now that we see He Mei's past...I don't hate her as much as I hate Chen Ting...but still I prefer Jian's dad and Xiao's dad to be together(China has banned BL I know, and even if they get together, that would be awkward, since that would make Xiao and Jian more as siblings) Mingyue immediately rejecting Zhang because of Tang Can....I love their friendship.

He also feels that he is alone, but I like his character because he is very protective of Jian Jian and caring, considerate, he is very soft and he really loves his father even though they are not related by blood. also even if he has a problem or he has suffered, he is still smiling so he is super brave for me even though what he went through is super painful also when Ziqui's story is really talked about, I cry especially because he is loving. actually Jian Jian and Ziqui also have chemistry, I used to ship them because he really appreciates everything and is very oriented.
also he deserves someone who will truly love him and not leave him, because that's what he's wanted ever since he started looking for parents. MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IS ZIQUI, he suffered the most.

Yea I know she lost her mum and d baby brother she never got to know when she was pretty young, but she had a loving father who raised her right and was dia whenever she needed him. Even back when she was still in high school and was failing, unlike the other parents,he didn't put her down or make her feel bad in any way. Instead he loved her and supported whatever she did or wanted to do. Not to mention her dear Godfather, brother, boyfriend and best friends. She is not lacking in the place of love and self-esteem or even her work. She is a blessed bunny❤❤❤❤❤❤.
