I put shrink on the eye, takes seconds. Whether or not it makes the rig safer I'm not sure, but I hope it does and that's why I put it on..

Hi guys Ive often seen that people put shrink over the hook eye to lessen the risk of it catching in the net. Do you believe this isnt an issue and/or the shrink does not alleviate the problem? The slit on the eye of a hook is minute so im sceptical about the whole catching in the net thing myself, i doubt the netting is actually going through the slot and threading through the eye and causing this issue id expect if anything its the entire eye and a bit of shank going through the mesh and catching, in which case the shrink would make no difference.............discuss?

Can do only good and no harm adding a small sliver of tubing over the eye of the hook.

I think Shrink tube over the eye of the hook should of been added on this video just so no problems can occur when the fish is in the net. Great rig though ☺
