SAMORA MACHEL - CHIIMYA AKULU BAND

Released in 1987 with Robert Kanyembo as a band leader. The song was done in Bemba and a tribute to Samora Moises Machel who was a president of Mozambique (1975- 1986) died on 19th October, 1986 when the plane he was in crashed at Mbuzini in South Africa.
Other well known Kalindula outfits that released 'Samora Machel' tribute song include Makishi Band with Samora and Shalawambe Band with Ba Samora. However, Samora Machel by Chiimya Akulu Band was the most popular and critics said it was the best of the three tributes.

This was a kabwe based band another song of theirs is chingalika its a good one as well.lts unfortunately its the defunct band now.
