You're such a great teacher! Thanks for the video. I come from an Electronics Engineering background and some of the memories in my signal processing classes have rematerialized in my head :D
It's always interesting, informative, and useful to watch your videos. You're an excellent teacher who understands how to convey ideas and methods clearly and concisely. Thanks
All great stuff about saturation, Kyle. Love my Soundtoys bundle. Decapitator is being used on a send bus that I've gone a bit crazy with within Studio One Pro. Pro has a splitter tool that I've used to split mid and side to saturate mid and side differently with separate plug-ins. I can EQ it then as well. SSL X-Saturation and Fusion Vintage Drive are other great ones that I'm using. Slate Heatwave isn't bad either.
this is the best video that I ever saw in this topic. thank you for your efforts explaining these fundamental things! It helps a lot to make educated decisions in my mixes
The part about adding waves to get different shapes is actually more important that you let on. It’s a fundamental part of both image and audio data compression.
You have given a very clear and easily understood picture of this. Unfortunately my iPad speaker is not up to the task. The iPad sounds good until a series of tests like these show it’s short comings up. Cleverly its sound system fools the ear. I neeed some external speakers. 🙏🏼
learned and heard so much, thank you! Now I know how, when and why to use saturation of any kind. PS What does the tattoo say, money .... ? or journey ... ?
Gain stating is everything and if they say otherwise, well maybe you think you’re getting some “wiseadvice” but it’s more like purple juice, you’re serving or drinking it. Great video.
Thanks! I would love to see some of the best harmonics "adder" on your channel. I use Saturn and True Iron. Can you make a video comparing some good vst's against each other? Thanks and love your channel!
@@AudioUniversity of course! He's my favourite teacher! 🥰 Member to his channel for a bit quite long time. 🙂 I need a comparison between all of those saturation and transformer vst's out there to see wich to buy next in my line.
How do you test a track on smartphone, small headphones, etc. without having to use them? How do you mix, keeping in mind how it will all sound on just anything?
Hay greetings from Uganda would talk about one channel receiving múltiple signals. Like us using a wireless microphone of 4 mics and all are coming in through one channel.
the soundtoys sponsor is a crazy achievement
Agreed! They're the best! 🙂

Thank you!
Just the best explanation on how adding/generating harmonics changes the wave shape and vice versa - well done!
Thank you!
Dude you are a World-class teacher. Amazing video thank you!
Happy to help! Thanks!
Living up to the channel's name huh. Your videos are always so comprehensive in contents and good in their presentation
Even though I am not practicing audio engineering anymore, I still find this video informative and fun to watch. Keep it up man!
I appreciate that! Thanks!
@@AudioUniversity hey man dont stop making these kind of videos. We'll keep on supporting these type of contents ❤️

Thank you very much!
"Analog is nonlinear"... this totally demystifies the "analog warmth" for me. I always thought it was bullshit but I get it now.
All great stuff about saturation, Kyle.

Thanks for sharing! Great tip. The mix knob on a plugin limits your parallel processing in comparison to a separate track or bus.

Thank you

Thank you so muck for your work of art
Thank you!!
Muy bueno. Gracias!

your videos are so informative and well-made, thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Glad you like them! Thanks!

Great information..pls post video about gate..limiter.. threshold..
I don’t have any videos on gates yet, but check out this video: th-cam.com/video/lgCYjek5_JY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QvuOB6UDWyMVSBzq

I just loved this video
Very nice beat bro i like Reaper thanks make again please
Reaper is great. Thanks for watching!
@@AudioUniversity yes yes very great
what is the name of the FFT tool? It's a nice visualization
These are the stock meters within Reaper.
@@AudioUniversity ah, thank you
The best sarurarion plugin I've found (i have over 2.5k plugins) is the zynaptiq intensity, saturate option.
explain mid side eq in details please on hot to create space in mix
Great suggestion! In the meantime, this video should be helpful: th-cam.com/video/R8kOp4jYcr4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_FqtmqPMM7JDklPZ
2:56 Is this an app or animation graph? I would to like testing if is an app online or downlable. Thanks!
All of these meters are available in the DAW called Reaper.
Is there any physic explanation or physiological reason why even harmonics sounds very pleasant to our ears but odd harmonics isn't?
How do you test a track on smartphone, small headphones, etc. without having to use them? How do you mix, keeping in mind how it will all sound on just anything?
Or eq your master output to sound bandwidth limited, just remember to turn off when bouncing your mix
Great suggestion @analogbanger! Another method is to use the software in this video: th-cam.com/video/Ttv-QO2WYt4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3dTl98EjmeThDQHA
@@AudioUniversity Yes there is another plugin called ‘audified mixchecker pro’, that has the same concept.
Can you explain how to control frequency while adding harmonics depends on snr
There are infinite ways! Don’t be afraid to blend compression, eq, and saturation (in different orders, too).
Tooobes!!!🙌
How is this free????
You can thank Soundtoys for this one!
