When I was a little boy in the 1970s I knew what my family's schedule was on Saturday night. Lawrence Welk Show on PBS at 6pm right after supper, then at 7pm we gathered around the TV with me and my brother on the floor and watched Hee Haw. Oh and all of you Gen Y and Z "country music" fans- THIS IS COUNTRY MUSIC.
Yes I agree I like this version, but you’re wrong about Don Rich. He’s not in that video. He unfortunately had passed by the time they filmed this as his replacement lead guitarist is in this video
Junior was my favorite with his straight face. Plus the old sweater news guy. And Gloom, Despair. Guillard is also my fave because of Jim Varney movies.

Connie Smith is in her eighties today and still looks MAGNIFICENT.
