Really informative video! Best I have seen on the Magnigyro M24. Nice to see they have the Rotax 915iS in it. It must just scream! The greatest selling point of gyros is they cannot be stalled. They will simple start a very docile, gradual descent. In fact, one can practice their engine off procedures on essentially every landing. It is the same for as a short field landing. They have very short take off in calm wind and virtually land in their footprint. Because of the heavy wing load (about that of a 747) they are very smooth to fly in during turbulent air. And since they have the heavy wind load and short take off they love windy days, which fixed aircraft hate. You simply point them into the wind, let the rotor spin up (or spin it up with the autorotator) and nearly vertically take off. Thanks for the video!
I am hoping to get a new business launched and I am checking into training. If I can get this launched I want to buy a Sea Rey but I have been looking at these gyros and they really interest me. The draw back is the storage. I need something I can put in tools and gear in for emergencies
what was the price of M24 when new (if you got it new), please? the previous version of 2010 wasn't so good; and why do you have it registered in the UK when you're in Australia?
Love these aircraft. Can you comment on some of the downsides I've heard like the lack of cockpit adjustable roll trim, the heavy stick feel, and the way the stick rises and falls when doing turns?
The M24 has a manual roll adjustment mechanism on the mast. The heavy stick feel can be adjusted but it’s great for 1 min turns and vibration absorbent tool that’s clamped to the longitudinal rods - the stick rise is awesome for getting in and out and it has no bearing on discomfort once in flight.
An often overlooked attribute is the ground handling stability designed into the gear. Its handles very well. Its not the roomiest gyro out there but seating is staggered slightly so pilot sits a little ahead of passenger which helps tremendously. The "heavy" stick isn't really heavy or hard to manage but is designed to provide better feedback so the pilot can better associate input effort with aircraft response. There are many more things about the design that earns the Magni's reputation as being the most stable gyroplane on the market.
They are suited to cross country, luggage is good for a gyro , if you notice Colin added a door to the other side behind the seats for some additional room and works well

Very well said ! I am super impressed with the Magni it’s a very nice machine. Thanks for the input 👍🏻

Thanks for great review.
That tail seems very low, though - ever have issues with scraping it on the ground during takeoff?
manofsan the tail has a little wheel under it to allow for tail drag so yes it does often drag 👍🏻
Fantastic Shots of it flying
Thanks Justin we are going to try some different ones next video

They are about $200k roughly. This one is definitely registered in AU so the UK one may be a duplicate

Another great video mike!
Thanks Adrian
Thanks, great review of the M24 Plus.
I hear they are very well suited for x country. If so, do they have much luggage capacity.
They are suited to cross country, luggage is good for a gyro , if you notice Colin added a door to the other side behind the seats for some additional room and works well
Collin gives an impressive introduction to the 915 powered Magni 24
He certainly does , he loves his Magni , it’s a nice machine
At 7:29 you show a compartment door on passenger side, was that factory installed? Magni doesn't show this as an optional install.
this was done as a modification during the first service , it was a great idea for more room 👍🏻
I'm curious to know what the other gyro was. The one with the undesirable handling characteristics.
I’m not sure myself he never mentioned a name of another Gyro
Colin, What is the costing of such an equipped Magni Gyro? Canadian viewer
Your best bet would be to contact a local dealer as exchange rates have changed However he paid $220k AU
5:24 -probably a camera illusion, but sort of looks like a loose safety wire coming off the turbo. Nice video, thanks.
Hi Thanks for that I’m seeing him tomorrow and will mention it so he can check 👍 thanks again
Best Gyro video I’ve seen, very informative. 👍🏻
Love the gyro! Unfortunately, looks like it is not available in the USA.
Thanks for that Kevin, that’s a shame it’s not available is there no agents in the USA?
Kevin try this guy he may be able to help Rob@airborne.com.au
gulfcoastmagnigyro.com/ Mark Sprigg CFI, DPE having flight training in the M24 with Mark, he is top notch! ordering one very soon.
Hi Michael come for a look at 6 different gyrocopters in 1 hangar in Victoria including M24 for another outlook on other gyros
I will have to give you a call next time I’m in Vic 👍🏻😀
Michael Hille sounds good 👍
What a beautiful helicopter
Thanks for that it is heaps of fun 👍🏻I will let Colin know
nice video well done michael nice video brother well done keep up the good work stay safe
thanks for that , appreciate your comment 👍🏻😀
Looks pretty. They couldn't find a way to hide that air intake!?
Yes agree it would be nice to hide it but there is no room left under the cowl .
Great video! The pilot seemed very capable and knew so much about his gyro. Where was this shot? Beautiful country.
Thanks for watching, he is a very experienced pilot. This was shot in Queensland in the Whitsundays Australia. it is very beautiful country
Great video but like other viewers I am now curious to what gyro you had before. Looking forward to more footage 👍
Thanks for that , I will see I can find out for you 👍🏻
He doesn’t want to bag out any other model but what he did say is the taller the tail the more they wobble
Michael Hille thanks for that Michael 👍
Hi Michael if you don't mind me asking what state is Colin in and does he do training flights or joy flights
Colin is up in North Queensland Mackay and will definitely do an introduction flight
I wish it would be for rough field operation
I never understood why they don't make them with jump capability like the old Carters.
yeah that would be great 👍🏻
Just wondering if either of you guru's are between TVL and CNS?
yes we are both in Mackay
@@michaelhille261 Have about 15 hrs on Gyros, would love a jaunt when next in Mackay. Aunt lives there.
send me a msg next time your heading to Mackay and will see if we can organise for you 👍🏻
What fuel does it use?
he runs 50% avgas and 50 % premium unleaded
Cool hille👌😁
Thanks Harry
Nice hille😁
How many lenth of rotorblade
the rotor has a span of 9m thanks for watching 👍🏻
Rotor blades 29.6 ft total
29.6 ft.
Make a vedio on rotor head system
next video is planned soon and will include the rotor head for you 👍🏻
How much does one of these things cost
I think it depends on the exchange rate and country your shipping too but at the time it was $220k AU imported from Italy,
Anybody doing these in diesel yet then
Not that I know of but would be good 👍🏻
