I don't get the clickbait title. Could you summarize quickly what exactly UAD did in this video and what they have to do with your productions, with plugin alliance, softube, soundtoys, PSP, etc...? Thx
You said you used the neve with the input on 35-40 and used the output trim. Did you put the output on +12db?? I do that but I´m still getting low output volume like 18dbs peaks is that normal? If I use more than 40 dbs of input I get more volume but sounds too colored when mixing I'm using the Sphere mic . Thanks!
Yeah, on the particular Neve I was using it had an output trim and I set it all the way to zero which is considered unity on that specific model. But yeah, I totally get what you mean. The Neve in my opinion is definitely a very colored preamp which is the tough part about finding the right balance. Depending on the source material, maybe move the mic closer or playing lot louder or if you’re singing, singing a bit louder. That would be the only solution I can think of that would allow you to get more gain, but not have to crank the preamp as much to avoid that coloration. Even thinking about the amount of gain you’re getting off the top of my head that does seem a bit low. 40 dB of gain is usually plenty but every source is different so it’s hard to say.

Did you watch the video or skip through? - also how do you say your name? User-bo8?
Cool
I like how you explained your thought process I am an engineer too and I like to see how we all think as we mix music.
Yes exactly its very important!!!

So is the 1-2khz sensitive/harsh for Airpods ? Or how come you were so focused on it?
Yeah usually that is typically a harsh area especially for AirPods and Bluetooth speakers
I love it. Nice Vid Bro.
