  • We spent a week on Lake Shasta and heard about this awesome spot to go hiking. It was called Little Backbone Creek. We almost didn't go hiking up it, but so glad we did. We hiked up first thing in the morning around 9am and by the time we came back down there were already 2 other boats docking and people starting to hike. It fills up fast and we were lucky that no one else was there while we were. If you get the chance I highly recommend making the hike up to the water slide. It was a beautiful hike.
Must haves are life jackets and water shoes.

Michael depends on the lake level. We hiked about a mile up to the falls

Yes you do need a boat to get to the base of the creek. There are no trail markers of any kind.

There isn’t a precise address because it is only accessible by boat. You will need to anchor your boat in the little backbone creek arm of Lake Shasta across from digger bay and hike up the river. goo.gl/maps/dxRDZgtbEEgq4SLT9
