What a great memory ! Such a great sound, band we had there setting such magnificent performance imho. Today, on the day we should be playing Philip Sparke's test piece in Palanga... A magnificent tribute to Philip Sparke !
Surely it is an impressive performance but to me the very stringent but strict and quick tempo overdoes it a bit and takes away in musical expression from their technical ability of being able to play it.
great work ♫♪ they became nr #1 with twice 96 also for Elgar Var. Martin Ellerby, venue Symphony Hall, Birmingham, West Midlands, UKmay 5th 2007, adj. team, James Gourlay, Alan Morrison, Thomas Doss, Jan de Haan, Philip Sparke, Oliver Waespi with poor play from the UK bands! that year they won and Stavanger #2 Cory #3 it seems easy but that isn't. They invest in the top challenge there were the Dutch can't hook up and are almost driven to middle level here.........
Fantastic band. Fantastic performance. Fantastic soprano.

Top performance of a terrific composition. Excellent audio-visual presentation.

Leuk hoe Lode nog even wakker gemaakt moet worden door z’n buurvrouw aan het begin 😂
Do I see 2 kids on the trumpet?
Don't know about the girl, but the youngest one is Lode Violet, Frans' son (the conductor). He is principal cornet in Willebroek today.
It's a cornet!
cornet (it is a brassband) ☺
@@PaGriWo you are right Pal; Lode now is also professor at the conservatory; followed his dad at least........... ♫♪

I remember Fodens playing Contest Music by Wilfred Heaton... That was a world class performance in my opinion.
Better than the YBS Europeans performance.
In what way?
@@charliewhelan9488 Every way.
