Taeyeon is my favorite soloist and lives up to her name! Taeyeon is in a girl group called Girls Generation that debuted in 2007 and the members now are doing solo activites but they are still a group. Taeyeon is the Leader as well as the main vocalist in the group. I would love if you react to her song "I" and "Why". Her vocals are crazy good in that also :)

Loved this reaction. I have been Taeyeon's fan for a long time now so I will help you out:
1. Taeyeon hasn't been hiding! She has been active in kpop since 2007, but officially went solo in 2015.
2. Leader and lead vocal of Korea's #1 girl group: Girls' Generation/SNSD (debuted in 2007)
3. She is in every SNSD sub-unit: TTS (debuted 2012) and Oh!GG (debuted 2018)
4. Also very active in OST (Korean soundtracks) and very successful with those over the years. Side note: She will be singing the Korean version of "Frozen 2" song 'Into the Unknown'
5. She has won numerous awards and holds the record for most albums sold by female soloist in Korea
I can go on and on...
So I recommend you listen to her debut solo song "I" and if you want to hear her sing her most vocally difficult song (I have yet to see any cover of this song do the bridge correctly) you should check out "UR".

Taeyeon started in one of the biggest girl groups of Kpop's second generation, SNSD or GIRLS' GENERATION. After 10 years some of the members went on to pursue other interests, the remaining members, including Taeyeon, released a song in the sub unit called Oh!GG as well as doing solo projects.

Taeyeon is the leader of a girl group called Girls Generation or SNSD, which has 9 members, they debuted in 2007,with one of the most well known and inspirational debut songs, they have won many awards, and if you play their song Gee to ANY older kpop fans they will most likley know at the dance to the chorus, they have done almost every type of music out there and have done many concepts, however one of the members sadly is no longer in the group as of 2014, but they still continued to do music after her departure, their latest album Holiday Night, is an album to celebrate their 10th anniversary and right now they are on hiatus to do solo activities, after the 10 year contract ended, only five of the members renewed their contracts out of eight, so they made a sub-unit called Oh!GG which taeyeon is also in, however despite three leaving the company they didn't leave the actual group so that why the remaining five have a sub unit rather than just the group name
Enough about the group, This song is actually pretty different from what Taeyeon normally does, she usually does soulful acoustic type things, which I do recommend, especially her song I it has a great meaning and the vocals in that song are crazy

Taeyeon is the leader of it, as you can see, she has a solo but the group is still ongoing, but haven't done a comeback yet for a long time. I really miss them actually!
You are blessed to have found Taeyeon. It is a shame western music listeners are slow in finding such a fine vocalist. Those in the East have enjoyed her singing and live performances for 12 years. Her discography is prolific as a member of Girls’ Generation, TTS, OhGG, mixed duets, OSTs and as a soloist. Her following of Korean celebrities/musicians who cover her songs or wish they could collaborate with her grows longer every time she releases a new song. Girls Generation created so many legacies and are actually known for having a great vocal line. They are forever the legends of kpop. You should check out the lead vocal from them Tiffany Young. She’s started a solo career in America now.
Taeyeon is known for being the vocal queen. Never have I heard a singer who sings with such emotion in my life. There truly is no one like her. I definitely recommend I and Fine to show off her emotional singing. I also recommend U R (it has no mv) as the song has insane vocals and was recorded all in one go and on the first try (she’s that good).
You should also watch Why (dance ver). It’s a summer, upbeat song by her and has great choreo. She’s never been known for being the best dancer in her group but she definitely holds her own well.
If you want to listen to girls generation I think you’ll like: The boys, I got a boy, Catch me if you can, You Think or Into the new world/ genie for throwbacks.
They also have a sub unit called TTS made of their 3 best vocalists (minus Jessica) Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun. I’m positive you’ll love their song Twinkle because the vocals are to die for in that song.

And you can feel the sincerity in her voice and in her since she's had rough times too... the songs are for her as much as for others. Her ballads are excellent too. Hope you can check out some lyric vids for some of the songs, side tracks often show off the voice more when the main song is a dance song.

Taeyeon is a goddess.
Her range is actually not that large, about 2 and a half octaves if I recall correctly.
But with Tae, it's all about the nuances.
She has a depth and passion to her vocals that are second to none. I could listen to her sing the Seoul Telephone Directory and I'd be perfectly happy.
One of the few singers that bring me to tears in a regular basis.

Taeyeon Kim is probably the greatest voice to come out of Asia. You really do need to check out more of her solo stuff, WHY is my favorite. Also, her power vocals for Girls’ Generation will punch you in the face! Her sub-unit stuff with TTS (Taeyeon-Tiffany-SeoHyun) and Oh! GG (Taeyeon, Yuri, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yoona)...excellent. Just really good stuff!
