2:43 AM - 3 Adults and 12 children displaced after fire breaks out in carport and extends to apartment units at 5851 Cedarstone Ct. 4 units affected. #IFD and City of Lawrence FD find heavy fire showing and make an aggressive attack on the blaze. 1 occupant assisted out of the structure, all others out prior to arrival. Working Smoke Alarms. #IFD Command orders 2nd Alarm after heavy fire tears through common attic space. Crews bring the fire under control in 45 minutes with one firefighter from #CLFD sustaining a slight injury. IFD Victims Assistance and Red Cross is working with apartment mgmt. to find shelter for displaced residents. The cause is under investigation.
Fire Investigators have ruled this morning's fire at 5851 Cedarstone Ct. Intentionally Set - ARSON.
