When you said "" I have my loved ones on my hand all the time "" it made me smile ... When we were young and so in love my fiancee and I bought the first part of a beautiful wedding set made up of 3 rings ,,,the engagement ring , the wedding ring and a third I affectionately call the suffeRING because it has no designated purpose so the suffeRING it is ....I wore that sign of our love proudly and when we married we purchased the wedding band . Then along came 2 boys , one income and the inability to afford the third ring of the set .....it was identical to the wedding band with 3 small diamonds .....low and behold when the boys were 7 and 10 they presented me with the third ring on Mothers Day ,,, they had had the jeweler exchange the 3 diamonds with the birth stones of each of them , the 2 boys and my beloved . So one day when I pass away my oldest will inherit my engagement ring and the youngest will inherit my wedding band and as for the third , it will remain on my finger to be buried with me so I will have my family with me through eternity ! Sentimentality has become such a thing of the past , so I was all smiles to see you adoring your gifted treasures ! You are such a sweet thing Stephanie , you and Philip are very lucky to have one another ..We will celebrate 46 years in September and still like each other , we love each other dearly but more importantly , we are best friends ! That my dear is the secret !!! cheers Cherryl from Canada
@@blakehahn-atlantaga8510 You are so very welcome ! …aah…that ring, can’t feed and clothe 1000 people in need; dig a well for clean water in a third world country…buy books for kids in a poor and disenfranchised part of the world. But sure, make a difference in the world with your ring, by burying it where only the worms will keep it company. Come on - use your common sense.
Love the more Steph-centric we've had lately, this felt a bit like Sundays at the Chateau used to feel, like Stephanie is going to teach us a little bit about her world and that's fun! Love seeing Stephanie, Marie, Davey, and Dan lately. Such a likeable bunch of people! Honestly that could be the entire show and it would be extremely pleasant.
The keynote speaker at the fundraiser had such passion - particularly about training and keeping skilled tradespeople (aka artisans) in France (and sharing their expertise with the world). Fantastique!
Love watching Sir Lancelot out walking with his friends. The rainbow trousers looked so lovely with the bright orange cardigan. The cardigan will look awesome with the black velvet pants you bought. The gentleman that was giving the speech about the importance of restoring the architecture of France was great. He spoke so passionately about his favourite subject. Lovely to see you home Philip, together again on your way back to LaLande. X Anna
I so agree with Marie. Butter does make it better! I'm from a Minnesota dairy farm, met and spoke with Julia Child, who signed my book from her, lovely lady. You go Marie!
Ahhh my London, I cant wait to return myself. Loved the shopping but gasp at charity shop prices regardless of who the designer is. Loved Marie's run around the walled garden and the forest. Marie has clearly claimed the kitchen hasn't she lol. I hope the fundraiser really helps the beautiful and historic building in France, it would be awful to lose them,
Lancelot is such a happy dog, it’s so cute 💕 It’s lovely to see Marie out collecting flowers; you’re a bit ahead of us in New England and I always think it’s nice to watch your vlogs in the spring and be reminded of what lovely things are just around the corner. As always, thanks for taking us along with you on your travels.
Darling, you sew! Those sweet rainbow stripped pants... sew the pocket opening closed and cut off the pocket. I do it all the time on light weight fabric pants & skirts as I agree, I don't like seeing the pocket piece through the fabric. What a fabulous area your flat is in.
I am fond of Stéphane Bern. He is devoted to French heritage and does a wonderful job, unpaid. He bought and is beautifully restoring an old royal military school in Western France in Thiron-Gardais
I LOVE second hand /charity shops!! Everytime I flew to England I carried a big sport bag inside my suitcase, because I knew I would come back with a bag full of clothes and they will not fit in the suitcase. London is such a wonderful city, so many things to see, so many places to explore and discover! Thank you for taking us there! I miss London so much!
The orange cardigan with your jeans looks amazing on you. We don’t often get to see full body shots of your lovely figure. The speech on the importance of renovating French architecture was great. Thanks for a wonderful video.
When I lived in London thee number 19 bus was also my favorite along with the 52. One day a friend and I decided to go to Brick Lane market really really early so we got on a bus that went there at around 5 am and of course fell asleep. We awoke in the bus depot hours later and then went for a hearty breakfast.
How exciting that you love the # 19 bus! 🚌 When I studied abroad I lived in Clerkenwell just south of Angel and I would take 19 or 38 to school. I was always late so I have many memories of hopping on the bus when it was stopped in traffic. This was the old open red buses and they were changing them to the new enclosed style when I lived then. You brought back happy memories 😊
I always find something wonderful in the charity shops of St Johns Wood. I used to live right on the high street so it's a lovely mix of nostalgia & shopping. Thank you for taking us with you!
Neat! We went all over the place! From London, to La Lande, to London and learning about French heritage and finally exhausted from all the travels, to sleep! What a learning experience!
You always look stunning, Stephanie, and can wear just about anything with style. I have always thought black velvet elegant with blouses and sweaters, I am sure you will find matches in your closet.
I was born & raised in Islington, the Angel & Chapel Market were my local shopping areas & I lived just off of Pentonville Road it’s a lovely area but after 29 years I moved to Kent when I got married as it got to expensive to live there. ❤️🇬🇧
Love 😍your pre-engagement ring it is beautiful, special and unique and one of a kind. 🤩I to had a pre-engagement ring and on my one year anniversary my husband bought me a solitaire engagement ring. We were very young when we got married 20 years of age we didn’t have much money at the time, but that all changed.💝
I hope you are feeling better today, Stephanie. Have you ever slept on bamboo sheets? They are by far the most comfortable sheets IMO. I highly recommend you get a set and try them. You will never want to sleep on cotton sheets again.
I love charity shop shopping ..everytime we pop over to uk to see family the first place we gwad is the charity shops..not the ones with prices like in London thankfully.. so here we are back in Devon with 6 lovely short sleeved shirts for my husband, wonderful brands too, in perfect condition, 2 jumpers for me, trousers and two gorgeous scarves plus 2 long summer dresses..perfect..still have just 8ver 2 weeks to go so I am sure that tally will rise..
Some years ago I was introduced to Stephane and we pretended to have known each other for years hugging and remembering nightclubs we went to MUCH to the surprise of the designers I was with that day, he is a 'good egg' !
I’d love to go thrift shopping with you Stephanie , it’s so much fun and you’re right , you really can find great treasures in there. I have a three tiered little Royal Albert cake stand on my table in front of me for afternoon tea I purchased for 5euro in the charity shop. ❤
Found you through Dan, and the two of you together are hilarious. I learned you can't travel anywhere quickly in London by bus, so you may as well sit on the top deck, and take advantage of the time to appreciate the architecture instead. I love your walled garden... one has dreams... sigh...
I love secondhand / charity shop shopping. I get this passion from my mum. I get such a thrill when I find treasures and the idea that it helps these charities is just wonderful. I have to go to London as the shops there look amazing!
Charity shops are one of the great joys of living in London. I shall go to St John’s Wood, as I had never checked those out! It’s a shame that unlike France, you never find nice antique objects or furniture here: as soon as something nice comes in, they call the antiques dealer or a staff member snatches it up.
So good to see Davy! I like how you quickly said the Neverlands to Philip, knowing you just came back from Japan. lol Yes that was weird to not see the chair in the kitchen anymore. But it does open up that area more. Liking the no curtains on the windows. But looking forward to see what you guys decide to do. Hope you all are doing well!
Stephanie, of course, separates can be so much fun to mix and match. You never have to wear the same outfit twice, but where it makes you feel good. I can’t stand a tight something or rather around my waist, it makes me cranky
Marie will you need lighting at your work bench? Stephanie you could have had the pockets removed from those lovely pants. Lovely Video and best wishes.
my first police division was the old islington police station on upper street, know the high pavement area and chapel market well, lovely area for finding treasure
What a delightful mix of adventures from window shopping to cash on the counter shopping to the "in-hand" reassuring closeness of loved ones with treasured jewelry and right on to time back at home with Marie as she strolls through the colorful Lalande landscape with Lancelot.
Artificial lights actually flicker at a very high frequency that tricks thhe human eye into perceiving them as constant. But I think you can somehow adjust the frame rates of videos to either bypass or synch with them. Also, for filming and still photography, you can buy/rent "flicker free" lights.

YOU LOOKED ABSOLUTELY RADIANT IN THAT ORANGE CARDIGAN!
Marie did a great job narrating the doings at Lelande! Well done! 🌈
Stephanie, the orange jumper makes you glow!!! Its a beautiful color on you.
The colour of that sweater was invented for you, Stephanie. Hope you’re feeling better.
Marie did a wonderful job filming her portion of the video, especially her foraging. Lancelot's liveliness brings me joy! S.
Beautiful footage and voiceover by Marie. Her contributions are a wonderful addition to the vlogs

That's Stéphane Bern. He hosts a history program on French TV called Secrets d'Histoire. And yes, he's a big advocate for heritage preservation.
He is restoring himself an old royal military school in Thiron-Gardais in Western France. He is passionate and does a wonderful job

I’ve just bought a Kindle cookbook: Butter, a Celebration 😀
Fellow Minnesotan here and totally jealous you met Julia child!! Wow! Used to watch her on TV all the time when I was a kid!
Why is a French fundraiser in London? Thanks for taking us shopping!
You should have got the trousers at the charity shop and had the pockets removed. They looked Dietrich-esque but in a 2020s way!
Ahhh my London, I cant wait to return myself. Loved the shopping but gasp at charity shop prices regardless of who the designer is. Loved Marie's run around the walled garden and the forest. Love your orange cardigan. It is gorgeous and looks lovely on you.
Keep wearing dresses Stephanie. It’s a feature not a bug. ❤
What a haul of flowers Marie, as for your walking companions, they would be my choice😂
Does Lancelot tail ever stop wagging? What a happy pup!
Stephanie that engagement is just stunning!
I wish I had wonderful charity shops like yours near me! Thanks for taking us along.
NYC also has charity shops like that on the east side.
That porridge looks delicious!❤😂😊

Growing up at the Angel with all the shops and local markets was the best ever, I miss the fashion that we had back then. Thank you so much. 💕🇦🇺

Black goes very well with Red or Pink or Gold, etc. so matching blacks not necessarily a worry. :)

In the past I have removed pockets from slightly see=through or bulky trouser lines, they looked so good on you with the cardigan!

Frequently thrifting in London too, I didn't know the st John's ones which I will of course pay a visit
Have to say, no one should tell anyone else what to wear. You should wear what makes you feel good. You always look lovely 😊
Sunbeam-Talbot existed from 1938-1954 and manufactured sport saloon vehicles.
Your videos always lift my spirits . Thank you. 😊❤
