Lol! I would've figured the younger kids would think having the lights off was cool.

Night and day difference from your last video to this one! Hope your "focus power" got you through the challenging time. I know nothing about makeup other than it's a HUGE industry.....if the world was ending tomorrow....women would go out and buy all the makeup they could! Ha! Oh.....you look great in yellow! Go Bucks!

What's your skin type / what do you look for in skincare? I love the Drunk Elephant line, but it is quite pricy. They have some great holiday sets that might be worth picking up during the upcoming Sephora VIB sale.

Hello! Do you still have the google Docs link for your lesson plans? I'd love to work with it. Thanks!

Hi Kristen, are you a dolphin?! I recognize those seats/classrooms from when I went there as a child. My class painted the murals on those seats with Mrs. Rosner! I love your videos!!!

I've been doing this music teaching thing for 10 years. My first 4 I spent doing K-6. I have no idea how in the world you do K-8 including band and choir all in the same room. That sounds incredibly overwhelming. The last 6 years I have just had 5th and 6th grade general music and I'm loving every minute of it. My district is moving towards encouraging all of the music teachers to use Conversational Solfege. Have you heard of it? There is a great podcast about it that I have been listening to over the summer that you might like. It's called Tuneful, Beatful, Artful. Check it out if you get a chance. It might help you a bit with your lesson planning/ scope and sequence for each grade level, especially K-5.

So you see k-8? What does your daily schedule look like? I teach K-5 so I'm curious how that works.

I enjoy your vlogs. I just found you. I’m a music teacher as well. One thing that I’ve noticed is how much you use your voice. It’s a lot and I saw that you got laryngitis. Less talking would help. However you know your limitations. Remain careful with plenty of vocal rest.

Greetings fellow music teacher! How are you doing as we enter December?! :)

Hey Happy Holidays! For me, this is year 24. I actually have a lot of mixed feelings about it. My educational career has been stellar. I’m at a performing arts school teaching general music and a choir director. My students will sing at the Governor’s Mansion in GA this week and at the State Capital in January 2019. On the flip side, I’ve had to limit my participation as a performer. I see that you enjoy performing as well and it’s wonderful. However I’m not available to perform (as much) due to working as an arts educator so that gave me pause. I sing and act and do voice overs. The other issue is that the students change due to technology and you will change. Maybe, health issues need more of your focus and family becomes more important than the career. Likewise educators must change with the times as well. Educator’s pay decreases due to the world economy may force you to keep your side gigs, etc. Also, educators don’t receive the accolades that performers receive most of the time. It’s a tough job with little praise from the public. My apologies sent for this post. You asked how is my December. To answer your question, it is stellar. However over the years, these issues have concerned me. Remain diligent with finances, health, family, and protecting your voice. I enjoy your channel!

Here's a fun video to teach your students about the difference between melody and harmony. Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/8dq7TgBUX8E/w-d-xo.html

Kim - It's a year later and I definitely do use my voice too much! This year, I've started recording myself teaching the lesson during my planning period and then playing that recording in class - it allows me to talk much less and lets me essentially have a recorded accompanist so I can grade my students during each class
