    it should be customizable as per the users need. my mother is blind and old, she just need two buttons to receive and to call one or 2 numbers. :( but these phones are done by people who have not experience of what the visually impaired old people need.

      Sometimes the old ways work the best. Landlines are still a thing. She might be happier just having that rather than having to learn new technology.

      @TheOneZenith thanks the suggestion. i needed whatsapp or other app as the calls are going to be made across countries so landlines super expensive.

      They do make phones (mostly marketed towards the parents of little kids) that have buttons for pre-programmed numbers and a button that calls 911, and nothing else. You can pick up something like the Easyfone T6 for under $100.

    I'm able to use most phones with accessibility enhancements but would consider this phone if my vision started deteriorating much more. Having the tactile keypad, controls, and wireless charging would be really helpful if my "good" eye goes the way of my bad eye, since the phone can be operated by feel and voice commands. All that said, I hope I never need a phone like this, but it is good to know it is available.

    We just switched to Metro. I had to get a new flip phone and it sucks so bad. I am really thinking about trying a smart phone and I'm glad I found this.

    It makes more sense if Apple creates an accessible iPhone variant than having talkback on any Android smartphone, for example: the iPhone 15 has the 15, the plus, the Pro and the Pro Max, it would be great if they just add the vision series with VoiceOver extra features like a reading mode for Websites and documents removing the adds, a single gesture to read the time, the date and notifications, a special update program removing all the voiceover bugs like the random cursor jumps and a little key pad underneath the touch screen. But there’s no need for that because VoiceOver works great no matter which iPhone do you have. I find Talkback on Android very unreliable and unstable these days so it makes no sense having this on an accessible smartphone, at least it must use a better and more optimized screen reader, but not Talkback

    Okay,
    I ran into issues with my smart vision phone. This phone is not a power phone at all. Several apps I used, I ran into issues with. Also, the bluetooth and other components are out of date.
    Now that I've transitioned to a google pixal, things are working much better than the kapsys phone.
    My honest advice is not to buy these sort of phones and get a mainstream phone. If Android is too difficult, go for iphone.
    And if you want something more basic than that, you could go for blind shell clasic 2, though I wouldn't recommend that.

    I am completely blind, and I’ve reviewed a couple devices that companies have sent to me. Is it possible that I can ask the specific company to send me a test device for the smart vision pro 3? Or do you have to buy it? If you have to buy it, then never mind on that. Great video by the way.

    • @MuhammedDenix
      @MuhammedDenix ปีที่แล้ว

      I could be wrong of course, but not as far as I know.
      My advice to you would be to buy this phone, the premium version if you can afford it.
      Because you have to use the standard numeric keypad entry for typing letters i.e. pressing the numer two three times to make the letter c, buy a qwerty keyboard and connect it to the phone.

    I use so many magnification and reading apps that a smaller screen doesn't appeal to me. And said apps also tend to work better with better cameras. I would say this could make an ideal backup phone (it is based off a budget phone) but after seeing the price, no.

    This phone seems pretty cool actually. It's great that you can download other apps onto it too even if they may or may not be accessible. How does texting work on this phone? DO you have to text using the bottons or can you also just use the touch screen? (Although I guess most VIPs probably just use speech to text).

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you have all three options. Using the old school T9 physical keypad trying to type it out on the touch screen or dictation.

  • @griffster17
    @griffster17 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Finally, you said that it only supports 4G. So it doesn’t support 5G then? Or does it? That could be another dealbreaker. As even my iPhone supports 5G now.

  • @griffster17
    @griffster17 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It sounds okay, but still pretty basic. As someone who is completely blind myself, and I have been using touchscreens since 2011, I would probably just go with a native android phone like a pixel or a Samsung galaxy. I find that most of the time these days talk back is very usable with android touchscreens. I am an iPhone user myself, have an iPhone 14 pro. And I just find using a mainstream Phone is often a lot better quality than using a phone for the blind as they are usually very low quality.

    Nice idea, but not worth almost $600. There are cheaper Android feature phones, and basically install free apps that can do the same work. I'm legally blind, so I get the idea, but I thought about using it as a network radio (PoC Zello), until I saw the price.

    The hardware and camera specs on that phone are garbage-tier. My S10+ is almost 5 years old and crushes it. Also that screen resolution is like 10 years old.

      @@chungusthe3rd838 just because a phone is for people with vision impairments doesn't mean they should be giving us crappy hardware and screens and expecting us to pay a premium for it. I'm sick of seeing this with vision impaired products. Doesn't matter what the product is, I see it happen time after time. Low and hardware or specs or basic design and premium prices no matter what it is.

  • @griffster17

    Also, what version of android does it come with? And what version of android is the latest it will support? That’s another big thing, because even a secondhand Samsung Galaxy S 20 Ultra can be cheaper than this phone and it can go up to android 13 which is currently the latest. Where as if it’s stuck on android seven or eight or something, that would definitely be a dealbreaker for me.

    So this brings up a question about smart phones for VIP users in general.
    Once again, iPhone is making my phone obsolete. And they cost a freaking fortune. So my question is iPhone versus android versus whatever. Which phones actually are the most friendly to VIP users? It appears to me that iPhone comes out on top in that regard but maybe not. If these phone companies are going to force me to buy a new phone every few years, then I need to find the cheapest best option possible.
    This may be a topic you don’t want to church for a lot of reasons, but what I am asking is, am I paying too much for iPhone when there are other phones on the market that are just as user-friendly to VIP users at a ton less money?

    Does it have a camera magnifier function like iPhone does? Find that feature invaluable when I don't have my actual magnification glass on me.
