I love your positive energy and your patience. You manage to keep it together with such grace and commitment. Continue being such a bright and beautiful light.
Hey Brittany, you're doing great! They're called 'wheel chocks'. Also, remember to cross your chains underneath before attaching them. It gives xtra support. I was told this when I purchased my first travel trailer. I'm on my 3rd one now. I'm here if you have any questions.
We just got one and the new rule is u don’t cross the chain. I am 66 and back in the day, u crossed the chain. If a cop happened to stop u , he may or may not know.
Here's a tip: you always dump the black tank first and then the grey tank so that the sudsy water flushes out the hose. As for the black tank, to keep things from sticking, use RV toilet tissue and pour a capful of Dawn (yes, dish detergent) and Calgon down your toilet after you've flushed about a gallon or 2 of water into the tank after dumping. This will help the solids not stick to the black tank. Also, you can also pour a bag of ice down the black tank after emptying when you're going to be traveling a few hours to help loosen up anything that's stuck. The friction will help unstick the gunk. You're doing a great job!
We all have to learn, and we sometimes learn by making mistakes. Not all RV's have a black water flush, mine certainly does not. However, I use an enzyme called "Happy Camper" for both my black and gray tanks and I've never had any smell. I'm very proud you, a lot of people are just too intimated to tow a trailer, backup hookup and unhook. It think it's a good idea to create a personal check list because it's so easy to forget something when it comes to packing up. I've been doing this for a while and I still sometimes forget to secure the TV, lock the shower door etc. You did a great job!
Hey Brittany, If you're that close to the dump hole you don't need to use both of the red hoses to dump your waste. Only use one of the red hoses. I made that mistake the first time as well. People waiting behind me came up and told me not to connect both of the red hoses, just use one of them since I was so close to the dumping station. Just a tip. 🙂 You're doing a great job!
people are always going to have something crazy to say who don't even OWN a trailer. YOU GOT THIS! I will say if you get tired of the flushing poop stuff- there are toilet liners you can use and they come out just like a garbage bag and you can just toss them. No hoses needed. Also yes they have pads in them so that you can urinate in them also. Just in case you get tired of all the hose mess and caked in fecal matter in the cassette or tank etc.
The first time dumping tanks is an experience. A few tips: i) wear gloves before you touch ANYTHING related to dumping; ii) don’t sweat it, as it’s just s$&t; iii) get a couple of the orange sewer tube “keys” to make connecting/disconnecting sewer tubes and caps MUCH easier on your hands; and iv) use the tongue “foot” to lift/lower your trailer up/down in the front so all the water in your black/grey tanks will empty completely.😊
Hello. Here's a little poopoo tank tip I used for years. Once every three or so dumps, put a bag of cubed ice in tank after it's emptied and drive for a few miles then black tank flush again and dump. This will get any yuckies that are stuck on walls of the blank tank. It worked fabulously. This is another trick my dad taught me. Happy trails to you young lady!!
Hey Friend I’m happy with your upgrade. It’s the bathroom for me. You seem happier too. I see the glow. I like the names you gave it too. Tia & Tamara. So cute. Hitching is a new process for you. You’ll get it. You e already got skills.
Heyy Friend, I love the inside of your camper and your hair. 🤗🤗!! I commend you because you are a trooper with your head held high and living your best life. You make sure that you take care of business needed with your camper to ensure it is operating properly with essentials items and loving on Jada Baby 🤗! Things happen beyond our control. God will see you through it all.
I gotta say that when stuff goes wrong i luv how you keep trying!!!You don’t just try and show just your success and i think that helps a lot of people out!….Good video 👍🏿😂☀️
Usually truck stops cut their outside water sources off during winter months to keep from dealing with frozen water and busted pipes. Once the season changes they will be back on. I'm a trucker and I have notice this over the years from multiple truck stops where temperatures get cold in winter time.
Glad you’re willing to take the plunge and get things done! One word of advice is you need to adjust the torque on your drill to a higher number. That way it won’t “freeze” as you call it or stop too soon. The drill is working like it’s supposed to under your current torque setting. Happy travels!
I do a lot of home repairs myself and make mistakes as I learn, but figuring it out in the end feels so amazing… I hope you’re proud of yourself fren bc I sure am proud of you! Keep going, Brittany! ❤
Empty black tank first, then gray water tank will will clean your hose, to help with toilet paper , getting clogged in black tank we put it in trash bags in the our bathroom, just throw away trash for sure get rv toilet paper and something that helps break down toilet paper and smell. Happy camper on Amazon
You did great for your first time. Just a FYI there are sensors inside the tank so if “stuff” gets on the sensors the monitor system will show that it’s 1/3rd full when it’s actually empty. Also, what I do when I empty my tank is once I have the hose hooked up I will open the gray tank just to check that it is connected correctly and if anything spews out it will be dish or bath water and not crap 💩 and it also coats the inside of the hose with soapy water so stuff is less likely to stick to the inside of the hose. Then once I know it’s connected correctly and it’s all good I open the black tank and let that empty and once that is done I empty the rest of the gray tank. This way it will clean out the hose. Also, when there is a water hose available that actually has water running to it (that business where you went shouldn’t have charged you the full amount, shame on them) I fill up the black tank and then drain it again. Be careful if you fill your black tank from the outside (to flush it) my nephew has a fifth wheel and was emptying his black tank and has the hose hooked up to fill the black tank from outside and I guess he was working at the time and on a conference call and the tank filled up and the toilet overflowed all over in the inside of the trailer, WHAT A MESS!! Hopefully that will never happen to you or me 😂.
This is a GREAT video, Brittany, you have me laughing SO hard right now! You did your best, and that’s all you can ask of yourself. This was awesome effort and attitude, and might I just say, your song choice was MASTERFUL. You always have the BEST music, Brittany.🎷🎺Thanks for joy at the end of a long day.🤗
So proud of you Brittany . May I suggest a pair of long chemical gloves you can find at a tractor supply other Farm & Home stores to handle you know that stinky tube❤️
You did a great job with the circumstances you were handed. I'd say it's a WIN!!! What I learned from this is, ask if everything is working before I pay. 🙂 Yes, they should have given you at least $5 back. Great job!!
Hello all Another yt Carolyn's RV life mention TP that is septic tank safe is ok to use in a RV. Don't forget to use black tank enzymes cleaner. It helps to breakdown the waste in the black tanks. (Not the Pooh smell good stuff that you showed us.) It makes the solids more liquidity. Can't wait for your next new RV owner experience. 🌹
I will admit when setting up my bus bathroom I totally avoided the black water tank setup, of course your travel pod came with one so gotta make use of it. I watched some videos on composting and sawdust toilets which work well.
You’ll be a pro before you know it. I’ve been in my 5th wheel solo for 6ish months and it’s definitely getting easy. I watch Changing Lanes here on TH-cam and Chad has made my transition to RV life a breeze. Be well!!! Hope to see you out here!
Hello beautiful Brittany. You go girl. You got this. I pray you had a bless day. Miss seeing Jada must she is doing ok being with your sister while care for this on your RV. Sending you and Jada lots hugs and love. God bless you both. Wow, so impressed with 60 per, better than pricing for a hotel/motel stay for a night. I hope noone slams you over your process, you know how mean we can be without thinking or generally caring. We all have to learn and dumping tanks would have my gut knotted, fr. Thanx for sharing this experience, and I think you did a good job.
oh gosh, the first time you go to do it and their water is broken!! I would have been like....yeah that'd be right! lol. Well done girl, you thought outside the square and got it done! yikes! I won't use anything but a composting toilet when I get on the road. So much easier to deal with
