Unfortunately I worked as Conductor there the morning of May 2, 2009. After clearing out some tracks and car shuffling, when I clocked out for the day the yard was shut down. I have photos of the last track that was humped there. Sad day.
There's a warehouse going up in the northern part of the yard. Where the hump and classification tracks used to be there preparing the ground there for something.
What a shame!, I new a guy who worked on the Buckeye yard moving earth to build it!. He operated one of two Laturnou scrapers with 7 bowls on each machine. He had a large picture of him operating one in his living room!.
