Cab Ride in C&O 1309 at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad

C&O H6 Class 2-6-6-2 No. 1309, now at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, climbs the hill from Cumberland, MD, to Frostburg, MD. The heavy Fall air, combined with a light rain and falling leaves, made this a challenging climb. The crew and engine worked hard together, fighting for every inch of ground up the hill. You'll hear the engine slip and claw for each turn of the wheel, passing the famous Helmstetter's Curve, going through the tunnel just beyond, and many views of the peak Autumn color along the way.
