Aaron Gwin´s day off

Who better to test the suitability and shred vibes of the Epic Bikepark Leogang than Aaron Gwin? In 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2017, the Downhill star took the win in Leogang and finished second in 2018. But the US-American also suffered some setbacks on the “Speedster” track. In 2012, his brakes malfunctioned, in 2014 a flat in the upper section led to a spectacular run on just his rim. In 2015, he snapped his chain coming out of the gate, but he didn’t let that stop him - taking the win even without his chain - a feat that is both legendary and remarkable. Following this year’s World Cup, the Leogang lover spent a few cozy days in his ‘living room’ in Epic Bikepark Leogang and spent some days shredding the different trails.

Wer könnte den Epic Bikepark Leogang besser auf Tauglichkeit und Fahrspaß testen als Aaron Gwin? 2011, 2015, 2016 und 2017 triumphierte der Downhill-Star in Leogang, 2018 wurde er Zweiter. Doch der US-Amerikaner musste auf seiner Lieblingsstrecke auch den ein oder anderen kuriosen Rückschlag wegstecken. Auf dem „Speedster“ machten 2012 bei der WM seine Bremsen schlapp. 2014 sorgte ein Platten im oberen Streckenabschnitt für einen spektakulären Ritt auf der Felge bis zum Ziel. Im Folgejahr riss Gwin kurz nach dem Start die Kette. Dass er dennoch den Sieg erzielte, ist ebenso legendär wie bemerkenswert. Die Leogang-Legende genoss im Anschluss an den UCI Mountainbike Weltcup 2019 noch ein paar gemütliche Tage in seinem Wohnzimmer und war zum shredden im Epic Bikepark Leogang.
