Absolutely magnificent! And I love the couple that did the restoration! They are lovely and they respect and love the architecture of the church and also added a cross to the fireplace feature. Couldn't have been more beautiful.

Lovely to see a restoration build like this one that utilized so much of what they already had. Beautiful end result!

What an incredible transformation. A beautiful result that is breathtaking. There is only one thing I would have done differently. I would have exposed the stone in the porch but kept the structure until I could find a way to redo it. I am a great believer in vestibules for two reasons. The first is energy efficiency. With an airlock the outside temperature does not penetrate the building. The second will be familiar to anyone with a beagle or two. A vestibule does for beagles what a cattle grid does for cows; it keeps the beasties in.

This is the absolute best transformation. It is so wonderful that they reused so many materials from the old church. The cabinets are amazing.

Amazing. I wish I lived where there were all these old things to sort through to find such cool stuff.

At first I was wondering why the house was set at an angle, but the finished product looks great.

Wonderful episode. Totally lovely creative couple. Classy outcome. The one tiny downside: looks like they need a new roof!

    • @michaeltutty1540

The roof looks to be good for a few more decades. Those slate tiles can be deceptive in appearance. A roof like that has settled into place with the weight of the tiles. Given proper maintenance the tiles themselves are a lifetime proposition. At some point they will need to be lifted and reset with copper nails, them good for another couple of centuries.
