Hello and thank you for your nice video. I do however have doubts about how the oil level was checked. The owners manual my 600 Transalp came with does not state whether the dipstick should be screwed in or not. My Hanyes manual says to not screw it in. All other sources I have come across for other Honda motorbikes state that the dipstick should not be fully screwed in when measuring the level. Could you please confirm that you are using the correct procedure, as the difference between a screwed in dipstick and not, would differ a lot due to the long threads of the cap?

Hello, thank you for your comment. There are two ways how we can change the oil, we can use the dip stick or we can use the specified amount of oil that is stated in the manual. The second option is however not precise as we do not know how much oil got out. The manual that I had did not state if the dip stick should be screwed in or not, it just wrote to check that the oil is in the range. I tried to check also the amount, that was why I was looking at the second bottle all the time. If I would fill in the oil to max with the screwed on dip stick according to your manual it should end up somewhere in between the min and max level so that should be fine. I will double check it and add a bit more oil. Thank you for the information. Seems that I have to look for a better manual :)

You never oiled the rubber gasket on the filter before replacing?

Hello, the oil filter that I was using already had the rubber gasket oiled with some kind of lubricant so I did not have to apply anything. If it would not have this lubricant, I would use a bit of oil to lubricate the gasket.
