I don't know if you know, but Taka (vocalist of the One Ok Rock) has a younger brother who is also a singer. His band is called My First Story. I recommend the songs: Alone, Last Call, Fame, Story, Reviver.
Taka was feeling under the weather on this concert thus the raspy voice but still he delivered superbly, he and the guys always give their 110% on every performance and when Taka messes up (which is rare) Toru, Ryota and Tomoya always backs him up, great teamwork. This song is about his family that’s why he was so emotional, now he has a good relationship with his dad and often come to see their shows
This is a very personal song for Taka, and he wrote it as an apology to his parents. As you may know, both his parents are very famous musicians. His father didn't want him to go into music if it meant dropping out of school, which Taka did against his father's wishes. For several years, their relationship was strained because of this. This concert was the first time his parents came to their concert, so he got a bit emotional. But contrary to popular belief, he doesn't stop singing in the middle because he got too emotional, but rather he messed up on the lyrics. There's pretty much either two things Taka does when he messes up: try to blame it on the mic, or make it seem like he wanted the crowd to sing. This time it was the latter. 😅 But either way, very emotional song, and you should check out the lyrics/translation: oneokrock.crosswithyou.net/album/nichesyndrome/nobodys-home/?target=English Another song similar to this is "Hard to Love," which is only available on the international/English version of their album Ambitions. That means they don't perform it in Japan so you can only find fan cam concert footage. Definitely check it out though. The lyrics are really really personal.
His parents should be very proud, not only did he and his band achieve great success but they bring very positive messages with their songs. Great video and reaction!
If I recall correctly this song is about the relationship with his parents as a form of apology and his wish for reconciliation, to let the past rest. His parents are successful artists as well and hoped for something else from him but he dropped out of college, quit the idol group he was in and left home to form his own rock band One Ok Rock. After having finally achieving success as a band and getting to perform at Yokohama arena, this was also the first time his parents came to his concert as such he is kinda overwhelmed emotionally on this performance.
a german fan gave taka the arm band so he wore it during the concert. also yeah! the band ever does tour near you, you should definitely go. they out on a great live show and are one of those bands who sound better live than on their studio albums.
Do you know that Ryota married Avril lavigne's lil sister in 2017? Just lil facts LMAO. Well Tomoya's the best drummer 😍😍😍 please react to more OOR try their song Wasted Nights, Cry Out, mighty long fall... Pref live performances
3:06 Taka is crying. The lyrics is about his life.
While emotions are definitely high, he actually messed up on the lyrics and, as usual, tried to cover it up by having the crowd sing it. 😅
