    Marty is incredible. I called bearcat cold asking for advice on an older machine. They connected me to Marty. I was a stranger to Marty and he spoke to me for at least an hour. He couldn’t have been kinder, more thorough, and basically gave me an education on wood chippers. Only then did I realize that he was actually the designer and he took his time, care, and consideration, to not only speak to me, if this machine in particular, but gave me an education and an understanding of what it would require. Not only did he spend this much time with me, but he did it again a month later. What a sensational, human being. Not to mention these are hands-down. The best machines made. Can’t say enough good things about Marty. Great video by the way. Thank you.

    At 27K plus tax I would just save up for a Brush Bandit or Morbark. Or buy a used brush bandit 250XP for $20.000 with low hours. I just would not pay almost 30 thousand bucks for this.

      This looks like a high end homeowner/farm machine. VG engine, but the chassis is not heavy enough for tree service abuse. That feed table would be bent in no time.

    • @gabemalcolm4429
      @gabemalcolm4429 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Rick Ciotti That is true it is a landowner machine it would be junk in no time doing more than that, But I think if somebody spends that much on a machine like this they are going to put alot of hours on it.

      FishFind3000 True dealer support is key! When I first saw these I was thinking they would be around 15K For because of the light-duty build.

    Overpriced and too complicated with a computer here and another one there and a speed control on this side and the starter and throttle on the other. Make it simple and drop the price. 27k is too much for such a small unit.

  • @jamesrosa6452
    @jamesrosa6452 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    It'd be a good unit for a pruning crew that's just doing pruning on mature shade trees, anything bigger I'd definitely go for a Bandit 15x or a Vermeer bc 1200xl, Vermeer bc 1500 & Vermeer bc 1800xl. PLEASE DO REVIEWS ON BANDIT & VERMEER EQUIPMENT, Also check out a branch manager grapple for the dingo! The guy who started the company is named Dave Nordgaard owns top-notch equipment & branch manager LLC literally the best tree grapple you can get for a mini. Dave is also selling his own line of articulated wheel loaders as well. I've met him a handful of times, really nice guy and he knows exactly what a tree company wants since he also owned a big tree company in Minnesota befroe he sold off to bartlett.

      James. His grapple is awesome. I've got one. He dropped the line of articulated loaders they're now selling other brands. The giant brand that he brought into the U.S. ...is awesome though. My buddy has one. No turf damage, good capacity, and great speeds.

      The goal of innovation on products like this is to reduce the amount of work a person needs to do, and expand what the machine is capable of. This means allowing machines to think in a limited capacity so they can accept more of the workload. It might seem dumb to put a computer on a wood chipper, but someday people will point at a tree and some machine will fell it and reduce it to chips all on it's own.

    So here is the down side to this. The echo dealers I know suck at maintaining larger equipment. You bring in a dingo and most of them croak. Additionally I can get the same quality of work with a Vermeer 900 BC cost $25,000 with 4 year extended warranty 2.7% interest financing. The Vemeer dealer will be standing outside, bay open waiting on me every time I bring in that machine for servicing and repairs. They will even lend me a similar or more powerful machine until mine is ready. Echo will get their lunch eating every day. But feel free to offer me a demo, I'll be more than happy to review it.

    I have an older gas powered 922 from echo. It is a great chipper. I would love for you to pass on my contact info as I have fixed and redesigned a couple areas they didn't build heavy enough. For those that say it won't hold up, I am a professional tree service and have been running this as my primary chipper for 10 years now. As long as you understand how to run a machine you can get a lot of work done with this unit. I do firewood and process wood for various uses so I normally chip 6 to 7 inch stuff which this thing does without question. You can tell from the video the blades should've been changed. That's why it was struggling.

    It’s great machine but I see one point that could be a problem. The rev. Sensor is exposed ( not covered ) if it gets dirty from the surrounding dirt it will not be able to count the revs, therefore will not allow the feed to work. That’s what I think. I could be wrong.

  • @geop3309
    @geop3309 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I dont really see this being a commercial chipper... the reverse bar is tiny and in an odd location. There isn't a yoke to put more pressure on the wood or to open the feed wheels( atleast didnt show it) no winch and the read out is where it should go. Foot petal for clutch isn't the best for someone who does tree work year round just another thing for salt to get into and destroy. The disc hood needs tools to open it rather than a pin. Never a fan of the knee bars vermeer does it on theirs and the smallest branches trip it. Disc chipper are kinda falling to the way side, drum are becoming more and more popular. From what I have seen drum chippers dont whip the brush around as much as disc. Might have been just the age of the chipper but the bed knife on drums were always easier to adjust than the anvil on discs. Long story short get a bandit 250xp. Those will take a beating and keep on chipping.

    “ Hey I know let’s put the computer at the mouth of the chipper”. Seems like a decent machine but that’s a bonehead location for that. Should be removable easy clip on and off. Connected by at least a 10’ cord. Retractable back into the cabinet would be extra sexy. 27 k seems like a lot of loot for a chipper to me but it’s not my industry so I really have no idea. What do you think about the price to quality ratio? Is 27 K in line with other manufacturers of the same powered machine?

    These are the machines that juxtapose the usual "Warning: serious injury or death may occur if this is misused or safety warnings are not heeded" with "DANGER: DEATH or serious injury WILL occur..." As I stated in my earlier post, these things will hurt you. They're designed to tear things apart. If you aren't careful, it'll be you. I heard of a landscaper that got eaten by one.

    I have a quick question. So i am currently 18 years old and i am starting up my own construction company but one problem i have ran into so far is tools my crew is growing and not all of them have power tools we are all students still. I have some tools such as a Milwaukee impact driver, a dewalt circular saw and a old miter saw i got for free from my uncle. I cant seem to decide which brand to go with for my company its between Milwaukee and dewalt what do you think the best brand would be? We do allmost everything in all fields of construction becides concrete. I plan on in the future expanding my crew and having multiple crews out at a time and also adding a couple of work trucks when the time comes. Do you have any advice i can have to get my company growing faster? We dont have to much money yet to buy new equipment.

    • @jameszeschke2182
      @jameszeschke2182 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My advice is don’t try to grow too fast,do the jobs that you quote for,do them at a reasonable price,do them well,but above all,be contactable and reliable, you will go quick enough if you are doing it right, brands of tools don’t matter as long as they are decent and stay within your financial budget,growing too quick has one serious drawback,a lack of cash coming in fast enough, this my friend can ruin you, Just some tips

    • @cathiwim

      This fucking thing is no commercial woodchipper. Maybe a farm use/heavy homeowner use with a large estate but not commercial. We have chippers this size that will chip 12"-18" logs. And 2 chippers that could chip this entire machine. This thing is junk. 3 words: Bandit, Vermeer, morbark.

    Looking at the comments looks like most the pros think it to small and too costly for a pro tree service. Echo evidently need to work on there game and the service program as well I have drive a half hour to get warranty work done and I live in the second largest city in Iowa

      A whole half hour! What were they thinking not building a service center next to your business?

    • @tyrrellroach5872
      @tyrrellroach5872 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      A half hour may not sound like much but you can pass 15 stehl dealers in town that can work on the equipment in less than ten mins without leaving town or even going to another part of town. With that said it only takes about 20 min to get from one end of town to the other here as well

    9 inch chipper yawnnnn, the company I used to work for had a Vermeer 2100 21 inch chipper, my own chipper is a bandit 250 15 inch. I don't know who the target buyer is, too small for any tree service and too big for any homeowner fail
