Hi Dave ! I'm from France, and the french for seal is "phoque" for species in northern hemisphere and "otaries" for species of southern hemisphere 😊
But I appreciate the joke about the prononciation 😂

this is one place i would like to visit, think i can get a bus to the ferry, then another bus, not quite a day trip, but only an overnighter
i have seen several stingrays that like a good nose rub, the sign always says don't, its more desese risk than anything

Been there 4 times already but you should definitely visit Lisbon aquarium! It's even better! By the way, I remember a lot of reptiles including caimans in Nausicaa. Aren't they there anymore?

The tallest aquarium I have visited is in Boston; but, that one is massive. Did you see any clown fish or blue tangs?

Just a little disapointed, those are not phoques but otaries and You may have seen so many phoques nearby on the shore.
