One thing I did do is change over to Wilson Combat magazines. The ACT mag had a few rounds nosedive into the feed ramp. With the Wilson's I haven't had a single problem.
I got an American Classic commander in hard chrome and love it.It is very accurate.I used it to shoot a business card in half from 5 yards. Also a 7 yards I put 4 out of 5 rounds touching each other. For just over 500.00 I think that is an excellent bargain. It also comes with a lifetime guarantee.
It's a magazine. If it feeds a round directly into the chamber it is a magazine. If it loads a magazine it is a clip. on another note that 1911 is beautiful.
@robbeddenluck the grouping is tight at 15 yards i am not a gun expert but this 1911 is bang for the buck i love it , trigger pull feels like a 2pounder. shot 400 rounds already and no problems . hope this comment help robbed
@was1791 depends on who you ask...I say Yes- it is potentially bad to drop the slide on an empty chamber. I believe it causes the sear to bounce against the hammer hooks and could eventually crack the sear or hammer hooks if done too often. I also believe that it IS ok to dry fire a 1911. Of course this is just my opinion-others may say the exact opposite.
@MrMunoz831 You too I just put one on layway at my local gun shop I'm planning on getting it out next week I wanted them to hold it so I just laid down 120 I would of just bought it then but had my wife with me lol u know how that goes! Ill post my review once I get it =D
I got exact same I sold it first time, regretted, sold glock got this again so much happier, thanks cuz I couldn’t remember how to disassemble, but did remember it was a pain in the ass! Lol
@fatboyR6 they are all good 1911 ruger , S&W springfield exc....... but after holding a lot of different 1911 . i notice that the metro arms has a light, a smooth trigger and hammer draw back. also has a beautiful finish too it. if i knew how to place a pic on this video i would show the new grips makes it look like a 900 dollar 1911 hope this helps on your decision .
That webbing in the hammer IS weird! That bothered me too as I've been researching these. hey is that Baja Blast in that cup! Taco Bell and 1911s...a man with good taste! Thanks for the video review. Hopefully I'll own one soon if the guy accepts my offer.
Thank you so much for this video! I just bought the same gun and after watching this I was able to take mine apart and put it back together with no problem. You're right, it is a sweet shooting gun! It's my first 1911 also.
That was my first 1911, and I was also incredibly happy! It doesn't matter if it's one or two rows; both are called Mag's! An M1 Garand has a clip you insert from the top, but everything nowadays is a magazine.
Hey man, I shot the 1911 for the 1st time the other day and i'm hooked! You did a great job with your reveiw because it came with honesty. I'm so sick of guys trying to sound like they're the leading authority on handguns when all us veiwers only want honest statements. Thanks and i'm really leanning to the american classic because of your honesty. Thanks again.
@frostyan ...cool thanks man. I'm def getting a stainless version of what ever I decide to get. I had a Kimber in black and it scratched way to easy specially with the take down lever. I paid good money for it, and it just didn't do it for me. It was an impulse buy, cause it was way below list, but I wasnt happy with it in the long run, so it had to go. BTW where on God Green Earth can I get one? I cant find any place online at all?
@frostyan Oh! Nice I'm thinking of getting the same brand 1911 cause I dont want to pay a 1,000 something plus when the american classic has good quality as the springfeild models. Id rather pay a 1,000 plus for a M4 Carbine colt which I'm getting already have the DPMS AR-15 `
I was wondering about Metro Arms i see allot of advertisements for them and wondered, i like the prices glad they are put together well. I always wanted a 1911 but could never afford a Colt, but i can afford one of these
@MrMunoz831 glad this video helped you , would like to put a pic at the end of this video so you can see it with the new grips. i have shot over 500 rounds already and the gun is flawless.
Good job on the review. Really nice looking gun. I'm a 1911 snob, not liking imports or cast parts, but that is nice! If it has a spring and a follower, it's a magazine; a clip holds rounds together for loading into a magazine.
@MrMunoz831 i have the xd sub compact in 9mm bi tone . had it for a couple of years now and i love it , never ever has it fail to fire on me . i think they shot better then the new XDM
Nice Pistol. I'm impressed with it coming with and ACT-MAG. I have 2 of them I ran threw my Kimber before I sold it, so I'm in the market for a new 1911. This one looks great for the orice so far. I want the Ruger but cant seem to find any available.
Thats not their logo in the hammer!! I know if you look, you can make out what looks like a M and an A, but MA isn't their logo. Their logo is at the rear of the slide!
lol ya taco bell hits the spot . the gun is great i love minds which i could add a pic to this video so i can show you the new grips. best 1911 for the money
I hear you on that! Ammo needs to drop in price so we can start shooting ALOT more often. Did your 1911 come with a Chip McCormick Magazine also? That's a nice addition to a nice pistol! Thanks for your time Bro.
Great video. It's a "Magazine"..... Shouldn't drop the slide like that. That piece that scratches the frame is the slide stop. Lol. Read the manual and learn your nomenclature man. Not knocking on you. For real. It's an awesome feeling when you get your first 1911. Unfortunately you'll find a lot of cats will be jerks about correcting you. I've all start somewhere. Nice pistol. Enjoy. Great video. Keep em coming.
It's called a MAGAGAZINE... It's not a "clip" :-) You use a CLIP to insert ammo into a MAG/MAGAZINE or an M1 Gurand kinda rifle. The ammo is then inserted into the mag/magazine. It has nothing to do with one row or two rows of bullets...
It is called a magazine and why do you have a video if you know NOTHING about guns? You and people like you is the problem with this new American gun craze. You making a video about guns is like me making a video about being a homosexual, I know nothing about it(not that there's anything wrong with it)-Seinfeld
Great video thanks
Awesome awesome great
Awesome

@JBrtn85 thanks
looking for my first 1911. may get one of these! instead of that new ruger sr1911
@Truhusker1 Thanks for your reply
It's a magazine. If it feeds a round directly into the chamber it is a magazine. If it loads a magazine it is a clip. on another note that 1911 is beautiful.
Nice demo and perfect opportunity to familiarize with a classic 1911 platform.
just got mine from buds. 200 rounds no issue, sights are dead on. very accurate. yes best bang for your buck.
@robbeddenluck the grouping is tight at 15 yards i am not a gun expert but this 1911 is bang for the buck i love it , trigger pull feels like a 2pounder. shot 400 rounds already and no problems

oh! that's a gorgeous 1911!

@404040c nope its the american classic 2 . the amigo is a 4 inch barrel i think
That was my first 1911, and I was also incredibly happy!
It doesn't matter if it's one or two rows; both are called Mag's! An M1 Garand has a clip you insert from the top, but everything nowadays is a magazine.

Great review bud,was thinking about getting one,now i am!
This gun has the feel of a high dollar high class 1911. The slide is fitted so well that its as smooth as glass.
@ITSBRANDENYAEY glad i could help man , which i new how to add a pic of the gun now put new grips
@fatboyR6 got mine at a gun store in miami florida . it listed online as america classic 2
That looks like a beauty. I wish I knew about them when I was looking for my 1911. I spent 1049 on my Colt...
@HerbWalker LOL that was a fail ... getting my shit together
NICE! I just bought the same pistol and you are correct, they are Great Shooters! Good Price too! Thanks for posting this Bro!
glad you enjoyed it , hopefully the price of ammo goes done so we can enjoy it more
I was wondering about Metro Arms i see allot of advertisements for them and wondered, i like the prices glad they are put together well. I always wanted a 1911 but could never afford a Colt, but i can afford one of these
@MrMunoz831 glad this video helped you , would like to put a pic at the end of this video so you can see it with the new grips. i have shot over 500 rounds already and the gun is flawless.
glad to hear , my 1911 is still going strong after hundreds of rounds. enjoy
nice vid.. i own a couple.. from the Philippines
yes it is do you have one as well. still my favorite hand gun i have ,
@kimisdaman thanks i am a little new to the gun terms. might do a review on my M&P 15/22
Good job on the review. Really nice looking gun. I'm a 1911 snob, not liking imports or cast parts, but that is nice!
If it has a spring and a follower, it's a magazine; a clip holds rounds together for loading into a magazine.
I got a black one today american classic 1911 45 acp ftw!!
@MrMunoz831 i have the xd sub compact in 9mm bi tone . had it for a couple of years now and i love it , never ever has it fail to fire on me . i think they shot better then the new XDM
my girl wanted one so got her one too
How well are you able to shoot with it? I'm in the market to get a 1911 like this I'm just curious what kind of groups you are getting from it
That is NOT a clip! It's a Magazine! Good vid for a 1st time 1911 owner! Metro makes a decent 1911 for the money! You will like it as you break it in!
one quick question, is it bad for the gun if you drop the slide when the gun is empty? what about dry firing?
Nice Pistol. I'm impressed with it coming with and ACT-MAG. I have 2 of them I ran threw my Kimber before I sold it, so I'm in the market for a new 1911. This one looks great for the orice so far. I want the Ruger but cant seem to find any available.
mines came with ACT-mag from psi use. it works good its wired that this gun comes with two difference mag company
Hey bro, nice gun but its not 15 inch. Its not an AR its a pistol and its 5 inch gov 1911. Keep lovin 1911 its a good gun.
Thats not their logo in the hammer!! I know if you look, you can make out what looks like a M and an A, but MA isn't their logo. Their logo is at the rear of the slide!
@wmk1975 don't feel to bad no matter what you always have a colt, good guns that are kept in new condition never lose there value.
That's a damn classy 1911!!!
P.S. It is a Copy of the Colt .45, and they are a good company (Metro Arms)
no if you go to the metro arm site . the amigo is small like a commander
Nice weapon my friend, but that is definitely a "magazine", not a "clip" ;)
15 inch barrel? Realy, come on man!
Is this the amigo?
its way worth the money i love mine which could at a pic to this vid so i can show you it with new grips
If it’s not stainless what is it
I bet you could knock out that logo in the hammer with a punch, Maybe clean it up with a dremel.
Exact copy of the colt
lol ya taco bell hits the spot . the gun is great i love minds which i could add a pic to this video so i can show you the new grips. best 1911 for the money
I hear you on that! Ammo needs to drop in price so we can start shooting ALOT more often. Did your 1911 come with a Chip McCormick Magazine also? That's a nice addition to a nice pistol! Thanks for your time Bro.

Do you still have this Pistol? How many rounds have you fired through it?
yes i still do, not much maybe about 200 rounds a year. No rust no issues .
awesome now order some nice side grip to mach your style , i put punisher grips on mine . Enjoy and tell me how the gun feels to you
ok
For future reference, DONT let the slide slam forward like that!! Not good for it....
its a mag :)
Is this gun also called the amigo?
It's called a MAGAGAZINE... It's not a "clip" :-)
You use a CLIP to insert ammo into a MAG/MAGAZINE or an M1 Gurand kinda rifle. The ammo is then inserted into the mag/magazine.
It has nothing to do with one row or two rows of bullets...
Its not stainless.
LOL! Clip...
Doo doo. Got one after 500rds.. Slide got a crack in it.
Really you have a picture off that
So...how many 1911's do you have now? LMAO!
It is called a magazine and why do you have a video if you know NOTHING about guns?
