Hello friends welcome back to my channel Welcome to another episode of Sikkim. Today our destination is Changu Lake.
Changu Lake is a fascinating tourist destination located in Changu in the Gangtok district of the Indian state of Sikkim.
Located about 40 km from the capital Gangtok, this lake has an elevation of 12,313 feet.
And it will take about 2 hours 30 minutes to come here from Gangtok.
From Gangtok the cost will be Rs 800 to 1000 per head.
Changu Lake is an impossibly beautiful place surrounded by mountains.
Whose heavenly beauty has no comparison.
The lake is surrounded by beautiful mountains which are covered with snow in winter.
During summer this snow cover melts to form the source of the lake.
In winter this lake is completely covered with ice.
And the average annual temperature here varies between 0-25 °C.
But the view of the lake is the most fascinating this time.
The Jhakari community of Sikkim in the lake throngs the lake during the Guru Purnima and Rakhi Bandhan festivals and
they believe that the water of the lake has curative powers.
The lake site has decorated yaks for tourist attraction
Strange feeling riding on it.
There is also a ropeway here. You can enjoy it.
Since the lake is located in a restricted area, a special permit or permit is required to enter the area.
You can collect this permit from various travel agents in Gangtok.
And for this permit one copy of photo and voter card or passport is required Aadhaar card will not work.
It is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Sikkim with around 3 lakh tourists thronging annually.
The best time to visit here is from January to March. Don't forget to bring a thick jacket, hand gloves and snow boots when you come here.
