Guarantee it's just a simple set up animation. I don't know the engine very well at all but they may just have to add some fk/ik holders in ration to the shell and gun, if you follow what I mean.
given the DAK was still indev until its release and the whole flak88 being one of the more placeholder of the items they got it will 100% be improved before release. alot of animations are still in works and the devs have talked about it in discord alot.
COH 1 still my all time favourite, they'll have to step it up. just the details in 1 was amazing its like they threw that all away with 2 that why i went back to 1, but i have high hopes
Coh 1 was far more realistic and immersive. The animations were pretty good done for that time, and overall game was more realistic, from sounds to vehicles, and effects

Hope they change that. When enough people mention this at the dev forum they hopefully will hear about it and change it in time.
CoH 1 flak sounds more terrifying tho, reminds me of the time my Shermans got torn apart by them. CoH 3 flak doesn't pack enough punch in its gun sound, making it less terrifying.
i agree!, every time when my friend plays as Whermacht, he always places a 88m flak gun near a victory point and uses advance warning on random...every time I attempt to take it out he sends in reinforcements consisting of Panzer 4's and some ostwind's along with other available vehicles he has on the field along with veteran squads (mix of Grenadiers, pioneers, knights cross, snipers sometimes) as well...if that failed...he sends in nebelwerfers and calls in a 280 mm rocket artillery to barrage in hopes to knock out of my attacking force which already took heavy casualties...man talking about this gave me nostalgia...just hearing that pak firing and causing damage to whatever vehicles I sent out is frustrating yet fascinating as well.

I think that's kinda the point. These guns were as loud as they were powerful. Without proper protection, you'd lose you're hearing petty fast which is something that may not be as popularly mentioned in history trivia.

From what i can see, both flak 88's are good , soundwise and animation wise for coh1 version but also i like the fact that in RL the flak 88 was actually towed by a truck etc, like all other ATG's at the time, which in my opinion is probably good because in coh1, you didn't have the option to relocate any flak 88's as they were static defences.
I've seen two different 88s that will be in COH 3. The towed one from the DAK campaign and the one you can build same as in COH 1 from multiplayer vids I've seen from COH 3.
It makes me sad to see that CoH 1 is so much better in so many regards to CoH3. I can’t begin to describe how excited that they are making the 3rd game but they have a long way to go to making the game actually a step up from their previous releases.

CoH1 and CoH2 multiplayer was way too cheesy metagaming with only 1 build available for each faction (and mostly on 2 of those 4 factions were in playable) CoH3 is way better even when it's only a release with many changes and DLCs upcoming

I thought this was pretty cool; and then I saw how fast they fire now. In game 1 the Flak 88 is one of the slower firing yet most devastating German defenses you can build. It looks like in 3 they fire faster; I wonder if at a reduced or balanced damage amount? Because I know 100% in game 1 the Flak 88 can almost one shot some tanks; especially on higher difficulty
When I was looking at the CoH 1 clip I was wondering why it doesn’t shoot any faster. The RoF in 3 is a lot more realistic. However from some other Alpha footage, tanks are tanking way too many hits and for some reason can retreat super fast in reverse 😵💫
@@kimjanek646 I think that mechanic comes from game 2; I can't be certain because I haven't played CoH2 in a while. I think it was double clicking behind a tank forces them to retreat in reverse at speed... I could also be wrong because I haven't played in a while

I loved the flak 88 in coh, wasnt too crazy about pak 43 in coh2, but it made more sense somehow. Im happy its making a comeback in coh3
