    Terry,
    Thank you for this video. I really appreciate the individual captain information to push the right ship to success as well as where skills might be tempting, but not actually performance enhancing. Similar to the video on IFHE comparison. Very helpful. I hope you do more Epic and Legendary captain reviews. I move them around, more than static builds, and like the perspective.
    Kind Regards,
    Yakob

    I’m very surprised that this is the only commander with APCS+, American ships for the most part are not HE Spammers

      It's really unfortunate, yes. I actually thought there wasn't any, since he was missing on my press account, but it's the same as with the British, only Tovey has it there, I think.
      I'll definitely try to get him, would be fun on Des Moines as well... You really won't use IFHE on anything but some edge cases

      @@FunandGameswithTerry he would be good with Des Moines, im personally doing Halsey instead (when I eventually get the ship). But he would work well.
      Even the new Legendary commander would have been perfect for the original line of American BB,s, if he had APCS+

    Jesse Oldendorf came with the Black Kansas in the premium version of the Blitz Pass I think. I managed to get him but I've never used him on any ship yet. I'm definitely gonna use him now.

      Oooh, really? Damn, I missed that. I only really found out when I said in a video that the US lines don't have APCS+, and someone pointed him out. Had to ask WG to provide :)

      His improvements on California can be a bit hit & miss, but on WV (and, I would assume, on Colorado as well) the guns just slam

      Same with Tovey. Some of the legendary skills can be a bit underwhelming, but then you've got captains like Makarov, von Hipper, Yamamoto, who are really good.

    Ayyy, finally! Glad to see this video! I put him on Vermont and Ohio and with AP camo combo, the dispersion feels so tight you can easily get 100k in no time. I'm actually thinking about putting him on Des Moines since her dispersion is pretty bad with the leg. camo, but I need the second radar since I play DM as a balance between support and DPS, so I'm keeping Kinkaid on her.

    Oldendorf was a great pick up during the Blk Kansas blitz pass. I use him on my Montana since I have Dewey for Vermont.
    On a side note, I was pleasantly surprised by the Blk Kansas. It’s turned into one of the of my strongest tier 8 BB’s. It’s able to keep pace with my Roma in the stats dept.

      @FunandGameswithTerry  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      May have to take a look at the Black Kansas, then - I usually ignore black ships, since they're tech-tree repaints with a skill shuffle :) But there are gems among them.

    Great video, Terry. I prefer to run Dewey with the precise aim gimmick. Have you considered testing IFHE skill? I feel that I lose fires on the British BBs running it.

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would probably consider Oldendorf for the Monty line, since they send more lead downrange, so an improvement in AP pen at impact would mean more citadel chance rolls.
      IFHE lowering fire chance of fire is a PC mechanic, I think, but I don't think it's existing on Blitz. With fires being highly RNG dependent, it's pretty difficult to see any statistically meaningful difference, but I'll take a note to run an experiment, at least the RN BBs have a pretty high base chance.

    I know you all are going on about Battleships, but I'm looking at Pensacola and Dallas and wondering if APCS+ would be downright abusive. Yeah, I know Dallas is a "bad" ship, but it lobs shells that land on deck armor, and that pens, and then it can do it again in 8s.
    This news is making me regret not taking Black Dallas when I had the chance though. However, by the time it shows up in the shipyard I'll probably have the commander leveled up so...
    Edit: Feeling nostalgic, I went and battled in Dallas. 3 citadels and MVP. So, yeah try it.

      Oh, I'd put him on a Des Moines in a heartbeat, APCS is useful on pretty much everything USN

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've tried a bit with Vermont, but it didn't make a huge difference to normal APCS. I had the same experience with Incomparable, the guns have enough pen as-is that in terms of citadels, it's purely RNG. With Ohio though, that might be a different case altogether, as she's quite a bit older, and might have lower base pen, which would explain why you're seeing an improvement

    • @hajikilla91

      @@FunandGameswithTerry yeah I’ve played Ohio since it came out and I got it in a Crate and it gets citadels but not as many as with Oldendorf it was like every salvo.. 👍🏼 I really hope they come out with a Ching Lee commander..that would be AWESOME!!!😂

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's actually a good choice as well, since Monty has a comparatively low calibre for T10 (second lowest after CC), so improving your chance of full pens could net you a good uptick in citadels.

    Torpedo DDs are too OP!!!. Shimakaze can kill any ship( or group of ships) in the game with a single unloading of torpedos, and players are completely dependent on other players, to have a fighting chance. They are ruining the game!

      U can use islands to block them, slow down and turn, use sonar for early warning etc.

      Torpedoboat DDs like Shima rely on stealth. A spotted Shima is mostly harmless, unless you're isolated and engage it at point blank range. The torpedo reload is very long, which means they rely on a) not being seen, and b) getting their torpedoes on target to make them count. That's not to say Shimas aren't strong, but they're not overpowered imo.
      For a player targeted by them, it really comes down to awareness. First step is to read the team list at the opening of the battle, and see what you're up against. One or two Shimas, check, keep it in mind. Second step is to look at your spawn points. Most maps will spawn in a similar "shape" on the other side, so let's say there's one DD in your team, and one Shima in the enemy team. Your DD spawns at A cap, Shima is likely at A cap on the opposite side.
      So even if you can't see Shima, you can usually have a pretty good idea of where he is, purely from map awareness. Carriers can help a lot with this as well, simply by spotting them, so always keep one eye on the minimap, especially if you're in a battleship (the primary target) and don't have anything better to do anyway between reloads. Once Shima is spotted, memorise where he was, and that gives you a good idea where he's likely going to be for the next minute or so.
      Now, let's assume you're being hunted by a Shima. You know he's coming your way, you're in a battleship, and you're alone on a flank. This is when you run. You do not rush a Shima, unless you're in a destroyer yourself (or a very good light cruiser). If you're in a battleship, Shima will come to you. Sail away from him. Link up with your team. Ping the map, maybe someone will recognise what's happening and help. Sailing away from a Shima, even if you can't outrun him, means that it'll take him longer to catch up, and it'll take his torps longer to reach you.
      Don't sail broadside on to Shima, sail away at a 90 degree angle. This way, you're likely to only take a few torps. A Shima without torps is no threat at all for the next minute and a half.
      Worst comes to worst, and you can't get away and have to fight - load the HE, hold your fire until you have a clean shot, and do as much damage as you can. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and appreciate a well executed rush that took you out, evaluate where you missed the spotting information, and have another go.
