Hej Todderbert thanks for your review Wow the Oncheer 8076BT looks very nice and nice upgrades love it take care and have a nice thursday. P.s Todderbert the Qodosen SR-286 AM/LW/FM/SW radio is very interesting and what i have read this radio have very nice features and great performance.
I just went and got one! It immediately reminded me of the tiny (and actually wooden) Prunus R818 you reviewed a while back (and I also own). I was impressed by the looks and the fact that the battery is replaceable easily, but once you got CHU *and* WWVH that clearly with nothing but a wire I was sold!
Your reception of WWVH is excellent 24:42. I also thought I heard RRI Romania. Nice radio, good conditions. Something I could listen to and leave in the outside shed. And plus the removable 18650 makes it great for what it is!
REALLY good sound and it seems they kept the impressive boomy sound of the previous model while definitely making the dial, antenna and the Battery compartment better too. Doesn't seem to be sold in Europe yet but only Ebay and Amazon for the USA. As soon as it becomes available over here, i'll get one because the size, formfactor and overall features and sound is perfect for me since i need a little radio like that for OTR. The tuner on these models is pretty good too and i suppose it's the same as the previous model that prunus also sells as their J-160.
I love these types of radio sets, NO clock!! No digital display. The LED display would be nice to have an off function. But then again I miss analog tuning
I love knowing my exact frequency, and a few presets don’t hurt, but I’m so with you about the damn clocks ( and alarms that get activated accidentally) on every radio that has a display. Just because it’s easy to put in… Yet, timer record, which might actually be a good use of a CPU, is unheard of.
I JUST BOT THIS RADIO 📻 AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE RADIO 📻 I LOVR YOUR VIDEOS ❤I TYPE IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE OF MY BAD EYESIGHT NOT YELLING
So the included battery charge lasted two weeks at 1-2 hours per day usage. Since there is no “low battery” indicator, I could only tell that the battery was getting low by the dial light dimming and the reception of a local FM station getting worse (signal sensitivity goes down along with the light dimming)I’ll see how long it takes to charge.
It is a pricey piece of wire. If you don’t like alligator clips or wrapping wire, the clip could be worth it. I eventually bought one one, wondering if some office supply or hardware store item might do the same job for $1.
@@jkeelsnc I have no lack of spare wire LOL - it's really just about how to attach it to the antenna (vs the nice $13 antenna's clip). I have pack of alligator clip cords, if nothing else, and various spools of wire. But, bought the antenna just for the clips at both ends. Eventually. And just one. I have a few radios around the house and just tightly twist a bare wire end against the antenna, as I don't often remove them. 5 or 10' of wire is way better than the usual whips.
I like the style better than the comparatively gaudy Prunus J-160. Removable battery is a definite plus, too! No excuse not to with radios big enough (vs some of the pocket radios where a battery door would make them bigger). Boo to Sangean for making several non (easily) replaceable battery radios.
Something we have in common I prefer the dark wood color. It's like when I was growing up my parents would purchase blonde furniture and I thought it was the ugliest thing I ever seen. Give me dark wood any day. 😂

It is a cool little radio with very good reception.
Holy smoke! WWVH Hawaii to Chicago with a 20' wire antenna indoors? Not bad at all!

You have a great channel. You feed my impulsive nature.
I continue to love this little radio
Great Audio, and the battery is replaceable. Cool looks finish the package :)

Note that the dial indicator is WAY off (a fact which Todd mentions in the video but it is worth repeating.)

Victrola makes some retro Bluetooth speaker/radios, please review them thanks.
Awesome!
Bought one today but like Todd, I wish it was available in the darker color
I wonder if there is a way to modify it so it can turn on the dial when in MP3 mode.. any ideas?
Isn't it a bit ironic that while the radio is $15.99, the Kaito wire antenna is $12.98?
