One was advertising Silk Cut while the other was advertising John Player Special. Imagine people's uproar if a family-friendly holiday camp did that today!
I've got to say, Butlins seems to really have improved! What a lovely vlog. The bikes seem very expensive though. At Center Parcs, you can hire bikes for the entire duration of your stay for a very similar cost.
Omg this brings back memories I used to come here with my mum and grandpa but we stopped comeing in 2016 I am so happy it hasn’t changed a lot :) No the change the paint in the kids like land I remember the ladybugs where red and the planes where dark blue and the trains where all green

I have been going to Butlins Minehead for over ten years. The heater skelter has always been there, it didn’t get brought back. I went on it as a kid it was closed for years and they did it up. Billy Butlins was the first man to ever bring the dogems over into the uk. The fairground now is where the outdoor swimming pools use to be where a monorail ran over the top and around the camp. I’m so glad it’s got the original theme to it and the retro ness to the fair as when I was a kid :) so much has changed here. I’m going in two weeks time. great vlog

Great vlog. When I was 18 I was a Blue Coat at Pontins, Blackpool and worked in the main ballroom (had to endure the Umpah Band every Tuesday night) - looks like nothing much has changed at Butlins! 😂

Robbie Williams was a big part of my childhood as my mum is a huge fan so seeing you all having fun listening to tunes of my childhood and enjoying your time. It was really touching and nice. Loved this! I went to minehead MANY years ago (i have got some pics of me from around 1998/1999) so will probably look at going back at some point. Me and my brother though have some very odd traditions we follow every time we go on holiday with our parents. our favourite which has been in place since 2005 (i was 8, he was 5) invokves air hockey and even when we went to Lanzarote we found 3 air hockey tables and had a game.......or 3! Current wins are 25 (to him), 40 (to me)
We stayed at bognor Regis butlins 2 yrs ago .the staff were great when we had car problems and couldn't leave on our leaving day ,they gave us free extra days and free food vouchers . And no hotel charges . Couldn't thank them enough .I was last at bognor site 1978 with school ,how it has changed but great to see the staff are brilliant .
Went to mine head last weekend obviously not everything was the same as usual but it was still brilliant the circus did a day of the dead show for Halloween and the skyline gang did a Halloween party I’m 12 but I still love butlins you can never be to old to enjoy butlins

I love Butlins - Minehead is my happy place! My family and I arrive in a few weeks for my 30th birthday and I can't wait! I adore everything about it... Except for World of Wonders! The first summer we went (2016) it was a creepy live show about a mad scientist and werewolf, it was excellent! Sad that went we went back last year it had changed!

Skegness is just a fairground dumped in a car par so they are knocking down jacks so they can put it there and they don't have the Miami wave anymore due to safety reasons

have great memories from there. we went to the spring harvest event there three years ago. it was amazing, the whole place was so friendly, and we just loved the water park, unfortunately we didn't have the fancy accommodation you had, I love Bert by the way 😀😀
This is the only Butlins review I've Iseen. Butlins is a great resort, as well as the Haven parks. How do you kill a circus? You go for the juggler. I remember when Chessington had the circus when it opened.

When I went there at Christmas....a lady went on the airplane ride thing 😂 and umm she got on the ride and she must of had her phone lose in her pocket and as it was like high in the air...her phone flew out and it was shattered...I felt sooo bad for her (if ur wondering y ik it was shattered is cuz I saw it fall and had to give it to her),but the just thought I’d let u know 😬
Hi Shawn, the circus looked good ,shame it was over half empty ,if all attractions were no up charge they would be packed, 7 pound adds up when you've got a few kids though , we of to dubai today, got the motiongate tickets ,can't wait ,my kids are now excited too.

I'm on holiday at Golden Sands on the 14th September, and I'm planning to go to Cleethorpes on Saturday that weekend. Perhaps you could come to Cleethorpes too and do a history on Pleasure Island like what you did with the American Adventure?

I went to a Steps weekend in Minehead in February. I was in Reds until 5:00 in the morning every day. Crazy weekend, you can't beat the adult ones!

They was both removed in 1998 to make way for the modernisation and the building of the Skyline Pavilion

Hey Shawn, if you do a vlog again, maybe you could do one at the Haven park Golden Sands in Mablethorpe, as they have a fairground there, and so does Primrose Valley near Filey. I'm on holiday at Golden Sands on the 14th September, and I'm planning to go to Cleethorpes on Saturday that weekend. Perhaps you could come to Cleethorpes too and do a history on Pleasure Island like what you did with the American Adventure?
