It was a dark and stormy night!
"In der Nacht" from Robert Schumann's Fantasiestücke, Op. 12 puts into music the Greek myth of Hero and Leander. Leader would swim every night across the Hellespon to have trysts with his beloved Hero.
Here Duane gives four reasons why it's so beautiful. He explains some of Schumann's composing techniques and plays the whole magnificent movement at (6:23).
