  • I found these amazing EDC tools that I would like to show you. This is not a sponsored video, but if knipex wants to sponsor me, I'm in! These tiny wrenches are super cool and very useful.
I use these wrenches all the time from Ham radio and antenna applications to minor repairs on my equipment. The clamping force and control you get with these wrenches are unparalleled to what you get with a Leatherman or similar style pliers.
    From the Knipex webpage:
The KNIPEX Mini Pliers Set XS combines the gripping power of a Cobra® Pliers and precise functionality of a Pliers Wrench. The tools are recognized for their high-quality construction and durability. Ideal for every day carry (EDC), each set comes in a belt pouch and includes one both the Cobra® XS Water Pump Pliers and Pliers Wrench XS.

Awesome tools… it’s also worth considering the slightly larger 125 mm version for edc. I’ve got a 125 mm Cobra - it disappears in the pocket and is barely large enough for .75” hose fittings. It also works slightly differently (button, like the larger tools) and has the red dipped handles. The main downside for me is lack of wire cutters.

@@FreedomFox1 Good point! Wire cutters are really handy. I hav’nt tried it, but the sheath might have room for the small knipex cutter to, thou that one might be to small «normal» EDC type stuff.

In New Zealand I sold Knipex tools for 10 years and all my clients loved them. I am retired but still have my Knipex tools from staff purchases . Great tools.

I think its important ho have in mind that the premis for this video are tools for EDC carry. No one thinks that the Leatherman is a good tool for your «real work» either, but it's very practical to have with you. If you want to carry the 150 size, then good on you, but I think thats just to big to be an EDC tool. 👍

Sure the 150mm is more capable...but the 300mm (a foot long) is much more capable than that dinky little 150mm toy you prefer. Only joking. Obviously it's always a trade off between portability and utility when we are considering EDC gear. I have the XS which punch way above their weight and for me personally, are more than adequate for EDC, way better than most multitool pliers. I have bigger versions at home.

You'll be surprised at how really useful this miniature Cobra is. I would call it without hesitation a most useful EDC tool bar none, even before a knife (if it is about surviving in a job, not in a nature, of course ;))

Thank you! Yes, they are surprisingly useful! For typical workshop repair use you get more done with bigger tools off course, but these are awesome combined with a multitool for POTA, SOTA and Bushcraft type applications. -73
