Livestock is one of the growing industries in Bangladesh, contributing about 2 percent to the country's GDP in the fiscal year 2021-22, and more than 16 percent to the agriculture sector. Due to government support, improved medical care, artificial insemination to increase production, use of automation and technology in farms, and increased investment, the number of livestock is constantly increasing, and the growth of the sector is accelerating. In the financial year 2021-22, the total amount of livestock in Bangladesh exceeded 43 crores. In view of this, besides becoming self-sufficient in meat production, Bangladesh is becoming possible to meet the demand of 830 grams of beef consumption per capita of the people of the country.
