EXCLUSIVE: Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio Speaks to RISE*
In September 2022, under the leadership of President Bio the UN General Assembly adopted by unanimous consensus a Resolution on Access to Justice for Survivors of Sexual Violence.
By this Resolution, President Bio ensured that 1.3 billion survivors around the world have gained access to justice.
On the margins of the UN Security Council this month, President Bio spoke to RISE on his aspiration to build a global alliance with other nations, multilateral institutions, international partners and other stakeholders to develop and agree on an International Treaty to guarantee access to justice for survivors of sexual violence.
