13:00 You're meant to hit and not get hit. Everytime you got dropped or stunned the guy hit you with a big meaty haymaker. Those punches should stunn or wobble you they are fully cocked back and thrown with his whole body. Your not throwing punches like that so if you wanna win with your style you gotta prioritize defense and not get hit with those. If you dont wanna or dont think you can get out of the way from those big meaty hooks/haymakers you gonna have to start throwing your own to damage/get his respect. I know its frustrating but if you go back and look everytime you got stunned or rocked he hit you with the most powerful punch he could those should do that type of damage if they hit.
Nearly all the TH-cam fights I've watched the combined damage in each round is well over 1,000, but in most of my fights it rarely goes above 800 or so.
thats the reason why i love the new damage system so much. since everyone can do power shots and rock you, you need to prioritize defense which is way better than flailing your arms out and gettng a ko with barely any defense. Defending and slipping punches mean a lot now.
@@kobejordan5518 under the new damage system, I’ve started losing to people that do extremely high output (specifically joystick players). By the second round I’m winded because these people can move forward and punch all day without expending energy in their legs. It doesn’t help that my roomscale is very small, so if I’m tired I can’t step out of range without expending a ton of energy. I’m starting to think it’s better to use the joystick with the new system - even though I’m doing a lot of damage my opponents can just keep moving forward and tire me out. My defense probably needs some work, but god damn is it tiring to dodge for three minutes straight while running away. Last fight, I lost with 3.1k damage vs 2.3k. Record is 10 W, 4 L
It seems right. Those light pitter patter arm punches won't work anymore with this new update, and that's a good thing. Whenever he dazed you, it was from a hard punch which was also a counter because you threw at the same time. The best way now is to actually box, defend, counter, throw with technique, pop, power, intent, purpose and pick your shots
Agreed, since that damage update Ive seen significant change in my results. Got my first TKO even. You can definitely now feel and see the skill gap between people who know & don't know what they're doing.

Somebody posted a video today explaining that you need to land a damage punch of 50 to daze somebody, 75 to knock them down, and 100 for a KO. When you have somebody dazed, your punches land 50% more damage, and his punches land 50% less damage. You need to work on the dummy and try to practice power punches that generate at least 50 damage. Also, when you get dazed, either try to hold on, or better circle away.
Do you know if you can stun with a cumulative damage punch? Right now my strong jab hits about 47 while still preserving my speed, I’m wondering if I hit with a 30 punch a few milliseconds before that in a one-two whether that’ll be enough for stun (or if the punch absolutely has to be greater than 50)
@@kimchi2093 According to the guy in the video I watched, who is either a developer of the game or knows one, combination punches don't result in a stun/knockdown/KO, it's just the damage from a single shot that has to be over 50/75/100. But he did say that a certain damage accumulation in a round leads to an automatic knockdown - I think it was 1200.
I agree he has his hands down without moving his head enough. I'm guessing you can't really stand and bang anymore without head movement or having a high guard
@kayess656 the reason why I was saying this was cause he said he didn't know how he got knocked down in the first round of the second fight the reason he got knocked down was that he didn't block or dodge the overhand he can't say he doesn't know how he got knocked down if he leaves his chin in the air like that

Just too clarify I only meant indicators on the opposition, I think showing indicators for when you get hit yourself is a good idea, knowing how much damage your doing on the opponents is a bit arcady

Dude, first of all you need to play in roomscale, there is no way you are whining all the time when you are playing standing and moving with joystick, second.. yea your opponent is playing standing too, but he is landing way more punches, with high power, so yes, you lose that match, he was better.
Lmfao. Looks like spamming is still more efficient and this game doesn't actually want you to box. UPDATE*** games working pretty good now after the last update.
@215millionviews8 lol I think I just figured out why.....it technically works both ways but what doesn't seem to matter as much is the energy put into the punch. So....if you look at you arm in game and make a fist with your thumb facing upward and then bend your wrist in a little more than you actually would irl to throw a punch. You'll notice the arm has better form in game, even if it's not necessarily good form irl....so this works for you because now your hits will be more effective....it also works for spammers though that don't swing as hard, but bend their wrists in, and trick the game into thinking it's a heavy punch. Now if the counter damage system was worth a fuck it would be better. Also, someone in the reddit sub had a good idea about the more punches a spammer throws in a row, the more damage a counter will do. Right now the game just determines if the spammer is blocking or not when throwing punches, but if the devs could somehow work in a system that essentially lowers their health, per se, for extended chains of punches, then I think spammers who are well aware by now that they're cheating, will just stop playing, or be forced to actually box.
Idk why the devs are so insistent on making hooks so overpowered.. 1 + 2s do absolutely no damage at all, I bop my opponents head over and over but they catch me with a wild hook and im down, it’s so bad
I think they have updated it to be like the first game where you get tired by punching too much and then you are more susceptible to the counter punch. I've noticed today that as other players keep punching, their face looks tired. Maybe try blocking and counter a bit more.
@garetht9666 I know, I agree but the problem is that it is a game and it's not possible to know how hard a punch or how many punches would knock your opponent out in real life. So they need to prevent everyone just swinging like mad for a full round.
I wish this game was as good as the first I feel like the damage and the accuracy of the punches in regards to recording the power you’re throwing was so much better. This game is fun if you’re not a boxer, but if you are, you’re gonna get beat up by a little kid most of the time
Brother move your head you only have good head movement when you’re being completely defensive once you start returning strikes your head is staying stationary in the same spot and he’s catching you with wild hooks everytime
if you are just throwing and throwing without making contact it multiplies the next punch that they throw. ricky’s defense isn’t that good and it’s showing in this video
Kinda seems like you're just standing there and throwing your hands out, without generating your power with the rest of your body. Your hooks are thrown too far away to do real damage. Seems like your jabs are almost like karate chops. You also leave your right hand down basically the whole time and he was punishing you for that.
