Beautiful ride! that downhill about halfway thru was making us a little nervous, i hope that was double speed video... pronghorns, mtns, lakes, rivers .. what a great day trip that river through the rocks near the end is spectacular
Wyoming has some beautiful country. no where near what Utah has to offer but this is home and i do love it. that downhill was at double speed. thanks for watching and taking time to leave a comment. i really do appreciate it.
+nibimocs Yes i did find some decent places to paddle. i went to Alcova Reservoir yesterday and paddled for most of the day and i may go for the morning tomorrow. are you going to the BWCA or to the north shore? Yesterday i committed to a mid May trip to Wabakimi so i'll have to pass on the BWCA. Thanks of watching and commenting. Take care Larry.
Wyomin' Po Boy I'm still going to the north shore. Neither one of my canoes is quite ready for the paddling season -- in fact, the solo is still in winter storage. Sure wish I was heading to the BW though
+Wyomin' Po Boy Here's an idea... 2017, late April or early May (ice-out permitting), you and I, week long trip, Frost River loop in the BWCA. Trip I was going to do this year. Rugged, Challenging -- AND REMOTE! Needs to be done in the Spring to ensure water levels are high enough. I like to enter in April if possible to avoid paying for a permit but early May (before the bugs start getting too bad) would also work. Just something to chew on for the time being.
+nibimocs Larry this sounds great. i'll plan on it for sure. Frost River sounds familiar maybe i've heard of it from one of your videos. i like challenging and remote. the fewer the people and bugs the better. very exciting.....
Cool trip. Some very beautiful scenery there. Dams are interesting and impressive, but I don't like them. I wish they didn't have to exist. Rivers are meant to run freely. But these are the times we live in. Anyhow, nice road trip.
+Nick Is Outdoors Mornin' Nick. i agreed with you. i would love to be able to float the North Platte with out the dams. Have you ever read anything by Edward Abbey? Desert Solitude is a fantastic book. He has written books about floating the Colorado and Green Rivers. I like his books. I canoed Alcova Dam yesterday. did have a good time. i need to get in shape for Wabakimi in May and June. It is always good to hear from you. take care and thank you for the comment...martin
This was neat to see this part of the country. I don't think I've ever been in these little spots. Neat!
+steinwaygoat i'm glad you like the video, Jules..
