Great film! Boys Don't Cry was awesome, as well. This one's not for everyone~ 2 of my friends didn't like it~ but I loved him in The Mysteries of Pittsburg, too.
One of the best actor interviews I have ever seen. Smart, decent man & a great actor, usually in good roles. I am going to miss intelligent conversation when the Nazis take power.
Alex(ander) Skarsgård was "The Northman" (he did audition for "Thor" but an Aussie, Chris Hemsworth, got the role); Gustaf, Stellan (the family's patriarch; was in Thor, Thor: The Dark World & The Avengers), Sam, Bill, Eija, Valter, Ossian and Kolbjörn. (I can imagine Peter Sarsgaard playing Alex Skarsgård's "brother" in a movie.)
I love these clips where I discover things like "Oh, Leonie Benesch is in this movie, isn't that her in the background?". Loved her in Teachers' Lounge and Babylon Berlin, so will check out the movie.
Fun fact: one of my best friends, Moritz Binder, is the writer of this movie. I got to work off camera with Peter, and actually interviewed both of them last week on my podcast: Artsy Fartsy Immigrants, for anyone interested:)
Omg I was going to post the same thing. I've grown to like him now over the years but every time I see him I CANT not think about his horrible character.
German here. I think you are right, but who also massively screwd up was the the goverment of the FRG (Chancellor Willy Brandt and minister of interior Hans-Dietrich Genscher). At that time Germany had no special forces trained for hostage evacuation like the GSG-9 today. So the Israeli Goverment under Golda Meir offered help by Israeli special forces trained for this kind of situations. But the German goverment refused due to the german law forbidding foreign police-/military-forces fighting on German ground. But this was an emergency situation. If there had been a political will they would have fiind a way to aprove it. What is also very sad: A young official in the Olympic organisation team of the city of Munich had detected flaws in the security system and had doubt, that some thin and low fences will keep criminals off the olympic village. He created an update of the security system and offered his plan it to the management. He was dismissed by the directors bord. They screwd up, too. I recommend everyone to visit the memorial near the Olympic Stadium in Munich. You are confronted with the fact that the Olympic games in Munich 1972 were intentionally planned as the complete opposite of the awful propaganda Olympics in Berlin in 1936 as a "joyfull" and "peaceful" event. And then you learn about the biographies of the killed athletes and the suffering of the kin in the decades afterwards. My mom was 21 years old when the news about the failed rescue aired in the morning. She had to commute to work that day and told me later, that she had never seen before so many sad, shattered, empty faces and a silence in the streets and offices of Stuttgart as on on this dark day. Never forget.
It’s good of you to ask. Better yet would be to provide a link to a good one. There aren’t too many cameras allowed in some places these days. Any how, thank you. And peace to us all.
You should really get into history and into facts and into the root cause of the war in Gaza. Spoiler alert: Hamas terrorists attacked Israel. If you would really care about the people in Gaza you would denounce terrorism.
Up until streaming you had really memorable shows. Now with Netflix etc there are hundreds of these shows/movies at the same time and they all run into each other and the streaming shows become an afterthought .. my point is streaming has made us look at movies like commercials here today forgotten tomorrow.

❣️ Peter. Shattered Glass...and so many more performances. Always interesting.
Shattered Glass was incredibly underrated.
Great film! Boys Don't Cry was awesome, as well. This one's not for everyone~ 2 of my friends didn't like it~ but I loved him in The Mysteries of Pittsburg, too.
The best guests are the ones that laugh a lot.
"The audience usually hates my guests. Because it's less ME." Hilarious.
I was like, he knows me! I just want all Colbert
I thought I was getting Alexander Skarsgard. Now I know the difference.
Gosh just imagine the level of conversations he has with Maggie. They both seem so interesting and deep people.
And their house is pretty interesting….seen on AD. Been coveting their teak bathtub and fireplaces.
We love peter sarsgaard and stephen colbert
Peter Sarsgaard is always great.
“I just slipped in there and did my thing” Tell that to the Intimacy Co-ordinator !
One of the best actor interviews I have ever seen. Smart, decent man & a great actor, usually in good roles.
I am going to miss intelligent conversation when the Nazis take power.
So having your wife serve as intimacy coordinator makes her an indirector.
loved him in "The Salton Sea" - a character I've seen IRL
There's so many skaarsgards that i never remember which one is which until I recognize the face.
Lol
It's Sarsgaard

@@kshinokevin he looks more like Keifer Sutherland.
My god this man is fine. I love hearing his beautiful soft voice.
They joking around like Maggie’s parents didn’t get divorced behind working together their whole careers
Sing Sing was such an amazing movie. Go see it if you have a chance
More Likes For Stephen Colbert 👍

@@John-x4l3m Of course...you are speaking for yourself Johnny-boy-x413m.
Writing from NZ and just realised this is the movie my cousin worked on recently … I will check out your podcast thanks ❤
@@francineharrison2747 oh cool! Maybe I met your cousin! thanks :)
The doctor is Frankenstein. I think you were saying Bayle played the monster.
Peter, Bill and dad. What a talented family
Different Skarsgård family - Stellan, Alex, and Bill. But yes, very talented, and easy names to confuse.
@ 🤦🏼♀️thanks😊
Nah he's a Sarsgaard, he used to remind me of Gustaf Skarsgård back in the day though
@ 😊
It is less Colbert. All monologue please
Would be fun to hear sports commentators cover world events though...
Chris Berman on Trump, "Rumblin', bumblin', stumblin".....
I dislike him for his role in Boys Don’t Cry 🙈😅
But not the actual murderer? Do you not understand how acting works?
@ Of course. He’s an amazing actor. Silly head.
Omg I was going to post the same thing. I've grown to like him now over the years but every time I see him I CANT not think about his horrible character.
The International Olympic Committee really screwed up Sept. 5. And they've made no effort to repair their failures -

I have to say: My wife´s name is Franckenstein (The original is spelled with a "C"):
I guess that makes me the monster
Anything and everything but a movie from the Palestinian side. Hollywood really lives up to its stereotypes.
do you want the Palestinian side of the Munich kidnapping??
Is there justification for terrorism?
@@Theodora1000 Is there a justification for genocide ?

It won't for those that appreciate the real story behind the attack on the Israeli athletes.
