- Katherine is still my favorite TVD character, but Kai is a CLOSE second. He’s the funniest character on the show and he’s stupid hot. Fits my brand perfectly.
so I literally never intended on making this??? But as I was building the base of my birthday Kai video, there were WAY too many funny moments for me to include and I would have felt remiss not getting to edit them in some capacity so hence I did this on a whim.

@@carmennicoleta5164 legacies is literally a cringe , full of teen age girls drama and their feelings like no I never even started it lmao .I paused after the originals .
In a way I like him more as a villain than Klaus, because as much as I LOVE Klaus, he's not a villain at the end of the day. He was a villain for like 2 seasons tops, and by the end you basically root for him and his happiness. Kai however, is so irredeemable, they could've (and tried) to redeem him with the Bonnie angle but when that didn't work out, he went full on batshit crazy and I love that. Here's a villain who's here to do nothing but ruin everything, there's no cutesy love story happening that's gonna make him realize what his actions mean, he is BAD, and he knows it, and he loves it, and so we love it. He's a well developed psychopath. Thus, even though we don't want him to hurt the characters we care about, and we don't really want him to win but we still love having him on our screens because he's LIT.
He was redeemable before Bonnie betrayed him 😭

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Character wise, Kai was so much better than Katherine and even Klaus at some points but TVD failed to use that to their advantage and killed him off too quickly, even though he was sent to the orison world and he comes back in Legacies but you guys get my point.

I agree, also kai isn't just a better charecter than klaus at times, hes always better. Donr get me wrong, I love klaus, he is an amazing villain and an amazing hero at times, but in the end of the day, kai is a better charecter in every way in my opinion.

So in his case, he absolutely couldve.
Also technically not all psychopaths are serial killers or even necessary too bad people, a lot of them are functional members of society, usually in higher up positions since they dont really feel bad about using people to get higher in the social ladder. They are usually not impulsive or raging but very calculative and thus why they dont go around randomly killing, because despite lacking empathy, they are able to understand that they gain nothing by doing so. Basicaly if a psychopath doesnt gain anything by doing something, they tend to not do it.
A sociopath on the other hand is a lot more impulsive, way less in control and explodes in anger usually and doesnt have the cold calculating patience that psychopath do, not the cognitive abilities usually. Considering that psychopaths are born the way they are, and sociopaths develop as a response to trauma, abuse, etc.
Which is why Kai is a sociopath and not a psychopath. He was not born with a disorder (other than his lack of inherent magic). But from the day he was born he was denied basic care by his family, was called an abomination, and denied something as basic as physical contact ergo all his basic needs as a child and a human have been neglected, and who knows what else. So eventually he snapped and as a response he became a sociopath. (Not overnight of course but over rhe course of his childhood).
This is by no means an excuse or justification to anything he has done dont get me wrong, but an explanation. But yeah still, all of that was basically magically fixed when he gained Luke’s empathy and it could’ve been a great storyline using a character trying to be bad or evil and being physically incapable of doing so, and adapting to having empathy again.

Cuz I feel like if he stuck around longer he’d be like good friends with Damon, I mean they were already usually together but, then Bonnie would eventually forgive him and Bonnie, Damon, and Kai could’ve been BEST friends and it would’ve been great💔yeah🥲
