My xreas crapped out on me last week, on my 4th gen runner. It took me 8 hours to change it out I’m not a mechanic though, and I didn’t have a car hoist. Just jacks and jack stands
@@shoptimewithdrew unfortunately do to money constraints I had to just get some Monroe shocks. But hopefully they will at least last a year so I can save up for some better ones. Nice Video Drew! Would you mind to shared your experience with that lift kit on the rav4? It seems that there is a lot of people complaining about issues with noises and vibration at low speed or when go on the gas a little to hard from stop. Thanks!
Thank you! I have not heard of any issues with the lift. They did have an issue with bump steer in the beginning, but they updated the kit to address that issue.
Nice video. I'm not doing a big lift like that. I'm just going to put a 1-in front spacer and replace the torsion bar end links. But I would like to add a 1/2-in spacer to the rear. Do you know who makes just a 1/2-in spacer? I can probably just use a coil compressor manually pull down that coil and put the spacer in without dropping any subframe. Thank you!
Thanks for the response. I know they're out there. I've seen them on other kits. I know Subaru has mild leveling kits. But I already did the front spacer so it's not a radical difference. It is pretty level. I just think that if I ever loaded up I might have a little tail drag. But I'm probably just going to wait until the new Bilstein terra sport shocks and struts come out for this model year. Thank you

Just got a 2024 Rav4 Hybrid Limited wanting to but a 2 or 2.5 inch lift front and back, preferably coilover lift vs spacers what are some good brands that you guys know of ? I've heard of Ironman 4x4 and they offer 2inch lift front and back but I don't see a 2.5 inch coilover lift kit anywhere for a 2024 rav 4 hybrid limited
You may need to look for one for a 22 or 23. The suspension is the same, and you may not find a coil over style lift it may be a new coil and shock setup, and none adjustable.
wow that is affordable, though on the top strut in front show four bolts on lift shows 3 bolts? also toyota jersey is this toyota dealer? this can take a day or couple days to complete - where are you located
If I remember correctly, the instructions have alignment specs, but really, there is only a front and rear toe adjustment. You can slightly adjust the camber with front shock towers.
Thanks drew, Followed your video and it took me about 5 hours with jack stands and floor jacks. Those sway bar links were tricky. I noticed that on the left front the bolts for the lower strut mount were reversed (Head and nut) is there a reason for that? Do you have the specs for the tork on the rear cradle bolts? Is the alignment completly nesasary after this install? I did not remove the tire rods. Thanks for your video it was a great guide for me. Really appriciate it.
Thanks for the comments. The front strut bolts can go in either way, but from the factory, they are facing different directions. I'm not sure the reason. For the torque, I would have to look it up. I want to say it was around 90ft lbs. I recommend an alignment because you are changing all the angles.
Are these the same tires before and after? 235/55 I’m assuming? I replaced my tires before realizing I want to lift my Rav and now I’ve got buyer’s remorse 😔
If you run it through a dealer, you are looking at 1,500 to 2,000 installed. I have an amazon link in the description for the kit. Then you could install it yourself or have help from a friend and save some money.
That’s why a spring change may be all I need every lift kit I’ve seen so far for the RAV 4 XLE hybrid all the kits have plastic spacers if you can’t get with aluminum iam just changing to slightly bigger springs just so I can get a 2 and half inch lift
I looked and didn't see any common issues for a rav 4 vibration at lower speeds. If you are doing a normal driving slow acceleration, it is possibly a torque converter shudder. Torque converter shudders are usually felt at normal acceleration between 18mph and 35mph. If there is an issue.
Did the original struts have cam bolts? I also have a 21 XLE. I just bought these. Im grabbing cam bolts in case the rav doesn't have them. Once you lift 2 in up.. it angles things. Cam needs adjusted along with the caster and toe. I've had toyotas in the past that could only adjust toe and caster. If i wanted to fix camber, i needed the cam kit. Just like dude who lower cars and their cam sets the upper part of the tire in.. rasing it does the opposite. Might be just enough out. I guess i will find out myself and i of course will have it aligned. Im hearing 50/50 about vibration on ALL lift kits with the 5th gen. The only thing making sense is either people arent aligning them, getting longer stab links or getting cam bolt if there arent any.

It was pretty easy. Its nice to work on newer cars though
I know it's not a popular demand but hope to see oem factory running board install. Didn't find any decent installation video on youtube.

Yes
Hey drew, whats your thoughts on this lift would you recommend this type of lift or the other popular option of just changing out the springs? thx
I think this is a good quality lift. I think this lift will accommodate anything you would want to do in your rav 4.
Aren't spacers really bad for the rav4 ? arent coilover lifts better?
Spacers are not bad for the rav4. Coil and shock lifts are superior.
wow that is affordable, though on the top strut in front show four bolts on lift shows 3 bolts? also toyota jersey is this toyota dealer? this can take a day or couple days to complete - where are you located
Strut has only 3 nuts that you need to take off on the top. The center nut does not get removed.
Does this have different alignment specs with the lift kit? Cuz I don’t think the hunter alignment machine gives an option for cars with lift kits.
If I remember correctly, the instructions have alignment specs, but really, there is only a front and rear toe adjustment. You can slightly adjust the camber with front shock towers.
Hello after installing it wheels need alignment and wheel balancing??
You will need an alignment after the lift, and if you install wheels and tires, they will need balanced.
I see your Toyota uniform. Are you installing this kit at the dealership? And can my local dealership install this for me too?
Yes, we installed this kit at my dealership. Your local dealership should be able to install this kit.
Did you change the camber bolt kit in front? what size is it??
What size is it??
No, I used the stock bolts, and the alignment came out fine.
You will need a 22mm socket to remove the bolt.
great video, thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
Does alignment gets rid of the positive camber after installing this kit?
You will still have the same amount of adjustment for the camber as when stock hight.

Depending on tire choice. The lift won't change the MPG.
