@Isabelle Zilli there's a difference in taste My parents are from the Caribbean Islands and even they call lemons limes It's a cultural thing as this would technically be limeade in America
@@fatefox2018I cut the limes but took off 95% of the skin. Strain it afterwards and you'll have 0 bitterness. Strain it for less than 30 seconds as well as on a less than maximum setting on the blender so as not to mix the skin in too much
Just tried this recipe and it was AMAZING!!! Thank you so much!! I love it the only thing I hate tho is the bitter after taste I’m gonna try your other recipe and see if it helps!
The bitter after taste is a characteristic of this type of lemonade... It's supposed to be at least a bit bitter (that's the whole point of not peeling them beforehand) and here there's even a more classic version of this which doesn't use any condensed milk so the bitterness can shine. Still, if you dislike bitterness, the best way to avoid it getting too bitter is making small amounts per time and drinking it immediately, since it gets more and more bitter as time goes by
I love the bitterness of limes and lemon, but the aftertaste if you use entire limes is nasty. Here's my tip (takes more work) : Use a microplane or something to zest the limes, keep the green skin. Then use a good small knife to remove the pith, the white part between the green skin and the actual lime. It's that shit that's giving it the bitter taste. Remove it roughly, and then throw the limes and the zest in the blender.
We make the same thing in D.R. with some variations. We call it morir soñando. Brazilians are awesome people with a beautiful culture and delicious food.
Jose! Got a question: I tried doing this at home with Key Limes (don't ask why), and it came out horribly bitter and sour. Is it because of the limes? Or should I try it with just the flesh and zest? I love your content man, keep it up!
I tried your less bitter recipe first and for me it was just too sweet, wayyyy prefer this way, for me it's more balanced and doesn't get too sickly sweet, so I can drink even more of it. (Also tried adding in some fresh mint leaves for my last glass of the batch, blended it directly in the drink and it was really good.

Wondering why is a lemonade even if its made from limes... well is because in most latin american countries, limes are lemons and lemons are limes... so green = lemon. Yellow = lime.
I'm sorry to correct but you're not entirely right there! You see, in Spanish and Portuguese at least we call both of them Lemons, as long as they're sour, what you'd call a Sweet Lime is what we call 'Lima' or Lime, because they're really not tart at all, there is where we draw the line, generally. The way you distinguish, at least in Brazil, is we call most limes "Limão Caipira" and lemons "Limão siciliano", if you'd like to know!
