Yep they are very temperamental thing's Helie's Chris!! The reason why it sounded strange was because I had slowed the speed of the main blades spinning!! By the end of the flight I had it correct!! Silly really all down to me inputting 35% instead of 25% I will have to get some glasses 😀👍

Thanks Adam, yes it was all caused by me inputting the wrong figures into the throttle curve!! The problem is Horizon aim this at beginners and it's not a beginners Helicopter at all 😀👍
Working from your Throttle.curve settings and it's much better. I have noticed the 330s HATES any manual trim added in, so try and have it fly well @ NO TRIM and the takeoff is noticeably easier. Slowing the headspeed down to the 65% range really makes landings and hovering a smoother, BUT u can't do too much else so def a takeoff and landing thing, some circuits. Iu1 at 75% -85% you can start doing aerobatics. I had to add some expo back in to dull the sticks a tad. It went from terrible to kinda flyable now! I just gotta get the rudder and cyclic flowing with each other on turns like my 230s does. Thx for the info, the swash levelling and the trims and all that.
Hi Ian … Not easy !!!!!! So many settings and fine adjustments that make a huge difference to the way the helis fly … but sounds so good when it’s all dialled in … Not easy even with all your experience and knowledge … interesting film .. Thanks Michael
Michael when it comes to Helie's it's a massive learning curve!! I'm still learning every time I fly one, this was my fault I must have made a mistake Inputting the numbers but I can't remember when I changed them!! That's why I looked so concerned, there's numerous ways you can adjust things!! I got it nearly right in the end Lol

Ian I think Cheryl was spot on when she said the Heli sounded like someone using a Lawnmower or Strimmer in their garden!? It just did not sound happy and stable my friend!? Mate if I were you I would give the Heli a complete re-setup and hopefully wean out the gremlins in the setup ?? Jerome I have never upgraded my firmware on my 330s!! Have you tried searching on Hirizon Hobby on how to do the procedure? What problems are you having with the Heli? Someone I speak to on here, upgraded the firmware and the Heli was worse and then crashed, so I would be very cautious about doing the upgrade!! One of the things I do on my 330s when it starts to play up is a Gyro recalibration!! It tells you how to perform this in the instruction manual, the reason why I don't upgrade is because I did one on one of my other FC6250HX controlers and the thing stopped working!! I had to roll back the update to get it working again!! So now I don't bother!! Sorry I'm not much help, maybe you should have a search on some of the Heli forums like Helifreaks 😀👍

Today Ian, the 330s drifted very bad to the left when it took off. I have to hold her on a steady hover for about 20 sec. After that the swashplate did level it self?. Also, when i took off it wasn't on safemode, but the thing is, i did not touch the settings🤔. Very weird. Pluspoint from this, now i know how it behaves without safe😁 it was steady as a rock
Why do you need a shower cap lol? Nicely explained at the end what it was all about and as chris said great save on one of the take offs, that could have been very expensive 👍

Hi Ian, congrats on your 701 st flight,that is an acheivement in itself, ! I think your heli has just been in the hangar for a bit and just needed a warm up ? The heli is flying well but does sound a bit off, and thats all she needed, was your midas touch to get her flying the way she should be, sounded much better after your second percentage value adjustment, well done, and thanks for sharing !🙂

I have the 230s . When trying to take off in safe mode heli always tries leaning to the right. Maybe you have a similar situation. Try taking off in idle 1 or 2 maybe?
Hi Katrina, yes it takes off great in idle up 1 or 2, but when you think that these Helies are aimed at beginner pilots I always felt that they should be able to take off in Normal mode!! The strange thing is I have the 150s and 230s and they both take off in Normal mode fine!! I have sorted the 330s out now and it takes off fine, Thanks for watching and commenting Katrina 😀👍

Yes it's a strange Gyro!! It's got a mind of its own sometimes!! I have to wait like that sometimes 😀👍

Very common with the Spektrum 6250 Flybarless controllers. I had 3, gave them all away. Horizon/Spektrum just keeps pumping out more and more junk.
